Dogtrap (open!)

Lightningpaw pressed against the wall behind him, lips pulled back in a vicious snarl. His yellow-green eyes were wide, his ears pressed back, and he slapped with claws unsheathed at the sweeping, massive dog’s paw that attempted to pry him out of the dead-end warren. It howled and whined with a high, throaty voice, excitement and slobber radiating from it in spades. It was smaller than some farm dogs, but it couldn’t squeeze through the narrow opening that Lightningpaw had barely fit through to escape his unexpected attacker. Worst of all, there hadn’t been any sight of a twoleg to control this ugly beast. Lightningpaw was trapped!

The dog’s focus is on Lightningpaw.

Batpaw was on her own walking through the territory, it was nice to be alone. The shy apprentice did not always enjoy the company of others and the solitude did her good to clear her head.

Thats when she heard the distant sound... her blood went cold... barking of an angry dog. and so close to her location. Jumping and spinning around she looked for it. Thankfully it was not upon her so that was a good thing... but where was it?


She crept low to the ground investigating. That is when she saw lightningpaw cornered by the dog... She gasped... she was frozen in place for a while unable to move from fear.

That is when Mistysky's voice rang in her head

"Show me how a warrior would fight!"

she had told her.

Taking a deep breath and letting the adrenaline work she hissed loudly and ran headlong into try and help lightning... she knew this was a stupid idea but her clanmate was in trouble and her duty was to her clan... she couldnt just leave Lightingpaw to die... This was a crazy stupid idea but she felt she had no choise... if she was in Lightnings position she would take any thing she could get... perhaps she could distract the dog long enough for him to get away safely... for her? ... she hoped her death would be swift if it came to that.

Batpaw uses jumping strike (6+3)= 9 damage and costing 7 sp

RUN!!! NOW the usually shy quiet she cat was not shy or quiet now. She yelled as loud as she could to her clanmate...

SAVE YOURSELF! she snapped at the startled lightningpaw.

The dog jerked back and whined in pain, surprised by the intervention of another small cat burying claws into its side. It growled with its long fangs glinting in the sunlight. Lightningpaw was momentarily shocked by the shy apprentice’s intervention, but he snapped out of it enough to bolt from the shallow tunnel. But he wasn’t making to flee the fight. He turned sharply, kicking up snow with his hind legs, and launched himself onto the dog’s back with a high arc. He didn’t have the breath to say anything to Batpaw.

Lightningpaw used Leap-and-Hold, dealing 6 damage and using 15 stamina. The dog is stunned for 1 turn.

Batpaw's eyes widened as Lightningpaw jumped on the dogs back... why wasn't he running? She was willing to sacrifice herself for him to get away... but it appeared he was also not going to leave her behind?  She didnt have time to tell him to run again the fight was on and if neither of them wanted to leave the other they were gonna have to focus and have the luck of all starclan on their side.

The situation was desperate, she thought back to what Mistysky had taught her. hmm if lightningpaw and her were both going to get out of this she would have to play it risky and be willing to take possibly dubious positional moves to give Ligthningpaw a way out.  She would need to give it everything she had... as far as concerving energy she was not to concerned... she saw it as unlikely at best that she would be able to get out of this alive so if it meant giving Lightningpaw a chance of escape that would be worth it.


She swung out without hesitation and without holding back.  She battered away at the target held down by lightning and bit down on it trying to cause the dog enough pain to make it run away... if nothing else hopefully it would attack her instead of lightningpaw.  She would feel terrible if he got hurt... or worse.

Batpaw used desperate blows and snap

Lightningpaw please run! she begged him but she knew and doubted he would not leave her just as much as she knew she would not leave him.  She panted the words out tired from the fighting and moves.

Coyotepaw was out practicing her quiet snow running skills, when a large commotion grabbed her attention. First, there was a dog yapping and snarling, followed by Batpaw's cries. With the distance, she couldn't make out all of the words, but Lighteningpaw's name was clear and evident. Swallowing back any fear she had, Coyotepaw took off towards the sound, paying no attention to how quiet she was. Soon, she came upon the scene, just as Lighteningpaw lept onto the dog's back. Picking up speed, Coyotepaw cleared the distance and swooped in to the dog's back legs. Sliding almost in the slick snow, she grabbed the dog's back leg in her jaws and bit down as hard as she could.

Coyotepaw used snap, causing 6 damage and using 7 stamina.
