introduction
Welcome to the first revamped edition of the monthly RiverClan newsletter!
Edition I: 02/02/2022
Going forward from this point, newsletters will be posted at the turn of each new month to offer users a quick and digestible recapping of various events happening throughout RiverClan, as well as providing a space for our Clan to recognize different avenues of interesting character development and celebrate them appropriately. If you have any ideas or components you'd like to see featured in this new newsletter, please do not hesitate to reach out through the site or discord- our higher ranks are hoping to make this project as exciting as attention-catching as possible!
Of course, there's a special shoutout to our former leader Maple for both providing this formatting and encouraging me to continue this project.
current happenings
As usual, RiverClan has been a busy little hub in the past month! Some of the most relevant happenings from January and previous months include:
- Ivystar's murder at the claws of Dawnhawk/Klaus, the vicious SkyClanner turned Rogue; though RiverClan's investigations of the circumstances have turned up empty-pawed so far, Jaystar and Cloverheart have begun to ponder whether the Clan should return to the scene of the crime to continue the search.
- Cloverheart [alongside Ebonyhaze] has joined several other Medicine Cats on the search for a precious herb, following the prophetic dreams of young Basilbloom from ShadowClan. An unfortunate time to leave her Clan, though the reward will hopefully outweigh the risk!
- Swanmist, along with her children Pebblepaw, Flurrypaw, and Mintpaw, have decided to flee RiverClan with the unhappy assistance of young Darkpaw. Will such actions bring retaliation against Swanmist and her family?
- The entire Clan has several ceremonies that have been completed/currently progressing! Flywhisker & Tinypool have completed their Warrior Ceremonies, with Blackpaw and Featherpaw currently in the middle of making progress through their respective ceremonies. New Apprentices to the Clan include: Beaverpaw, Darkpaw, Snowpaw, Pebblepaw, Mintpaw, and Flurrypaw.
character spotlight of the month
This subsection of the newsletter is meant to offer a specific space to recognize interesting and pivotal moments of character development from all members of RiverClan, largely as a way to call attention to the skills of our individual userbase and help everyone learn more about one-another's characters.
This month, we're shouting out Ripped's character DARKPAW for her two traumatic experiences incurred back-to-back: with the accidental witnessing of Swanmist's family attempting to escape being immediately followed by a vicious fox attack while out confessing her crimes to Jaystar.

Open Clan Events

- BRICK'S ARTS & CRAFTS WORKSHOP - Brick/Harebounce, former Asylum member turned RiverClanner, itching with a desire to revitalize her home's lost culture (while also providing her new Clanmates with a way to stay warm against the bitter cold), will be subjecting a patrol of young cats to an impromptu adventure. This strange little workshop will teach a few young RiverClanners how to properly skin the pelts of prey and wear them as though a second skin- a very taboo subject in the Clans as of currently!

- THE VERY COUNTERFEIT OF DEATH - Jaystar, Perchfall, & Cloverheart will be guiding a patrol of volunteers back to the location in which Ivystar's body was discovered. Together, this patrol will work to uncover clues about the truth behind Ivystar's sudden drowning.
