Hello everyone! I hope the disputed territory mechanic and the change over to leafbare has been making things uncomfortable in-character, because we have more in store for you this holiday season!
As some of you may have guessed based on the early change to leafbare, this season appears to be shaping up to be a harsh one. Certainly harsher than any in recent memory. On the Hunting System Page you will find a new column has been added: Harsh Season! As the name implies, prey has become increasingly scarce and difficult to find as the weather grows colder. For the duration of such a harsh season, the following changes are in effect:
Characters will expend an additional 2 SP when attempting to hunt.
Predator encounters are no longer just limited to a roll of 10. A dice roll of 8, 9, or 10 will now trigger a predator encounter.
Success chances for catching prey max out at 3, depending on the type of prey and territory.
Threads created prior to this announcement are not affected by these new changes and will continue to use existing leafbare rolls and stamina cost. If you have questions, feel free to ask in the Help Thread or on discord. Happy holidays, everyone!
