Pinekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Perchfall felt slightly more sure of herself this time as she leapt onto the Willow Branch, face impassive as always. The branch crunched beneath her paws, still coated in ice from the morning's hoary frost. She was tempted to fluff out her pelt against the cold, but she opted instead to stay still, and not give any indication that she felt the chill of the morning. As she exhaled slowly, her breath puffed in front of her, as white as a cloud. The former deputy's kits were all getting ready to be apprenticed, and she was doing a ceremony for one of them. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own fish gather beneath the Willow Branch for a Clan meeting," she called out, voice only as loud as it needed to be. They'd be overrun with apprentices soon...

Pinekit was hanging around in the nursery, When Perchfall called a meeting, One of the queens in the Nursery asked him to go into the Crowd, He accepted but didn't know why he was going, And why he was asked to go even less!, But he saw Petalpaw in the crowd of Warriors and Apprentices and sat next to her

All right. Once she saw the kit in question, Perchfall wasted no time before beginning the ceremony. "Pinekit," the deputy said, "you have reached the age of six moons and you are ready to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Pinepaw." She knew exactly who was going to mentor this kit: the kindly older cat who had been so willing to help her own apprentice. It just so happened that his apprentice had recently been made a warrior. Normally he would get a breather period, but RiverClan had an influx of kits and needed mentors for them. "Robinpatch will be your mentor. I hope he will pass all of his skill and knowledge down to you."

Pinekit- Pinepaw, Was excited, The one who would mentor him was someone He'd already met!, Only now did the Familiar face stand out in the Crowd, Robinpatch, His Mentor, He has a mentor now, Then his mind caught up, He was urged to go by the queen because he was an Apprentice!, It made sense now! He's the age of Six Moons, He exhaled in wonder, Six wonderful moons, It felt amazing.

"Well, would you look at that." he breathed as he listened and watched Perchfall assign him as a mentor to the spunky little tom-kit he'd gotten to know not too long ago. Life had a funny way of playing out. They knew each other somewhat and now they'd be training together. Isn't that something?

The scarred warrior got up from the spot he'd been sitting at during the ceremony and made his way over to Pinek-paw. He needed to get used to calling the youngster by his new name. Pine wasn't just a kit anymore. He was an apprentice -his apprentice.

The moment he arrived after making his way over to Pine, he bent down to touch his nose to the younger's and then backed up to address him. "Ain't this a funny situation kiddo? You an' me as mentor and apprentice? Who would've thought? Hope you're ready cause your training will start early tomorrow. You'll have today to rest. We'll be tacklin' on some good ol' hunting. It's a good way to start our journey together. Tackling the basics an' all that." The calico warrior offered the newly-named apprentice a crooked grin. "You go on and enjoy the attention. Just be sure to get some sleep once night hits. I don't want any whiny apprentices when day breaks ya hear?" There was no real heat behind his words. He was just messing with him. Robin patted the other's head with his tail as he retreated to his previous activity.

Pinepaw giggled, He was in the spotlight, and LOVING IT, He had training in the morning tomorrow, Pinepaw nodded in excitement at his new mentor, as the mentor padded away, He thought of how close being a warrior seemed, And he was Delighted, No, THRILLED, At how close it felt, But he quickly remembered that it wasn't now, While slightly dulled, Being an Apprentice was still good, You gotta learn how to walk before you run He thought, with that statement applying to now, Stuff made a little more sense
