Bearspirit sat somewhere in the crowd, but Greypaw moved to support her. Her eyes softened as he stood next to her, supporting her. "Thank you, Greypaw. I appreciate it. I have to know what's going on though." She mewed, gratefully accepting his support before sinking to lay down, their sides brushing each others. Her apprentice sighed idly, and she nodded next to him. "Agreed. Hopefully we get some peace soon." She mewed, though the inflection revealed that she wasn't counting on it. Before long, Jayshriek continued, and she blinked slowly at the news he shared. So he was Jaystar now... Ivystar was indeed dead. She blinked at him as he mentioned her name, her shoulders slumping in a mixture of relief and defeat as he released her from her duties as deputy. Disappointment and grief collected in her throat, an impassable ball that she couldn't rid herself of as he named the new deputy, a young warrior. Her ear flicked at the appointment, but she didn't raise her voice in disagreement. Perchfall accepted the appointment, and Dewlight forced herself to her paws again, quietly thanking Greypaw for his support before retreating back into the dark comfort of the nursery. Her bruised ego matched her injured body as she curled tightly in her nest, trying to swallow the feeling that she had disappointed her clan. She had done her best to serve and support them, she had given everything she had... And now suddenly she was free from it. Should she have continued to go on, deteriorating? Or was this better? Clearly StarClan had a vision for the future of RiverClan, and she wasn't a part of it's leadership, but... It didn't help alleviate the feeling that she was a failure. She closed her eyes, turning her back towards the entrance as she breathed in the stench of blood that lined her nest.
