“Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather under the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!” Goldenfang called from her seat atop the Tallrock. It rose into the air and left her exposed to the whipping winds, chilling her. As unpleasant as the temperature was, the deputy was still pleased for her announcement. It was time for Swiftspirit’s litter to be apprenticed.

The days had grown colder, and Swiftspirit fought back a shiver in the winds that made their way through camp. At least she wasn't exposed to the full force of it like Goldenfang, who was climbing up to the tallrock... She'd be doing ceremonies today, and Swiftspirit kept Goosekit still with a paw, quickly smoothing down her fur as the deputy called the clan together. Satisfied, Swiftspirit focused her attention on Goldenfang once more. Her kits had grown quickly, and now that they'd be leaving the nursery it was bittersweet, but Swiftspirit was excited for them to become apprentices finally.
“Goosekit, step forward. You’ve reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you’ve earned your warrior name, you will be called Goosepaw. Your mentor will be Muddyleap.” Goldenfang smiled at the tom. He’d been so upset since Sunnyskip and Ryesnap’s deaths. Perhaps an apprentice would help him look towards the future?
