Lost Sparks [Open]

Flintstar glanced over at Mistyfalcon as the tom spoke up, a dark shadow crossing his face for a heartbeat as his long-missing daughter was brought up. But he quickly shoved those emotions down to focus on the problem at paw. "Correct - however, that particular she-cat was not at the medicine cat meeting I had brought Rookfire to after Asylum was defeated so either she died or retired and I am not sure if their current medicine cat would be as willing. Besides, I am not about to ask ThunderClan - or any of the Clans - to risk their medicine cats or their warriors to escort their current medicine cat to our territory just to train Basilpaw while we still have these rogues prowling around our territory," he explained, before a sigh escaped him. And of course it wasn't as if any of the medicine cats could stay here as their Clan would have need of them - mostly if they didn't have a medicine cat apprentice or was training one themselves. This would be a matter for them to figure out on this own, he suppose... "These rogues are being a far bigger thorn on our side than I had imagine. We must figure out a way to stop them sooner or later, before we keep losing our cats to their twisted ambushes."

"Batglow?"  Basilpaw felt some of the panics in her chest begin to dissipate at having an answer to this tragic situation, though her worries still weren't quite quelled.  Batglow was a warrior she was at least familiar with, him being the father of her former denmates Cheetahdawn and Pantherpaw, but they had never spoken.  What if he didn't want to help her?  The last thing she wanted was to burden the already busy tom with another responsibility, especially if Flintstar ordered him to.  I'd be grateful for the help, really, but...  "If he wants to, then I'd love to learn from him Flintstar, however-"  She was cut off by the voice of her father, and as she turned to look at him the she-cat's ears twitched curiously.  Cinderpaw?  Must be a medicine cat from the past.  If a ThunderClan medicine cat was willing to train them though, then maybe they'd be willing to do it again!  

For a moment Basilpaw's eyes brightened at the prospect of such a clear solution, but Flintstar's logical response brought her back to the earth.  As every struggle the clan faced seemed to come crashing down on her all at once, she couldn't help the tears that welled in her sunny amber eyes but tried to hide them from Flintstar as she nodded up at him.  "P-Please, don't put anyone else in danger just for my sake.  I'll learn from Batglow for now if he's willing, and then once we find out what these rouges want with us we can worry about my training."  Trying to keep up a hopeful smile, Basilpaw felt her heart begin to race as she padded back towards Rookfire's den - or, she supposed it was her den now.  If Batglow trains me, then that's one less warrior helping solve the rouge problem.  If another medicine cat comes from another clan to train me, then that's one more cat put in danger by being on our territory.  But, if the rouges keep attacking and I don't know how to treat the injuries they cause...  Her next breath escaped her at the thought, and she felt hot tears begin to run down her face.  Oh StarClan, did you really choose the right cat for this?  Or am I destined to always be a burden to ShadowClan?

Rookfire...wherever you are, please guide me.  I don't think I can do this alone.
