First Impressions[CLOSED for Byrin]

It was a new day in SkyClan, the smell of the blood spilled just days before still saturating the air. Mountainheart lay awake in the warriors' den, curled up as tightly as possible. SkyClan was very different from RiverClan. It was... Scarier here. It was probably just because she hardly knew anyone, and most cats were too busy mourning their loved ones to introduce themselves. Neither of the cats that had brought her here lived in the same den as her, and so she felt very alone in her nest as the night turned to dawn.

She got to her feet with much less gusto than usual, shaking out her plush pelt and yawning quietly. She wasn't the first to wake, but she was up a lot earlier than she would have been in RiverClan. Maybe it was the absence of Sneezingpaw, who'd always stayed asleep with her. Did Sneezingpaw have anyone to cuddle with in StarClan? She hoped so. Else she wouldn't be getting any sleep, just like Mountainheart. Did StarClan cats even need to sleep? Wasn't it always nighttime for them? These were the thoughts that she entertained as she left her den and headed towards the fresh-kill pile.

No fish. Of course no fish, SkyClanners didn't swim. Why not? It was so fun! And fish were so tasty... But short of going out and catching her own, there was nothing Mountainheart could do about it. Starling was tasty too, anyway, she decided as she grabbed one and began to eat.

Another cat coming up next to her caught her attention, and she looked up from her food to face him. He was smaller than her, though that wasn't rare, and had lovely tan fur. She couldn't help but smile when she saw him. Maybe he'd want to be friends? It would be nice to make a friend. She didn't have any SkyClan friends yet. At least, no non-family friends. This cat didn't look too mean, so it was worth a try! "Hello! My name's Mountainheart. You can also call me Menace. What's your name?" Her voice was a bit raspy from the lack of sleep, but otherwise full of her signature excitement.
