A tiny, striped gray head poked around the corner of the entrance to the nursery. Wide emerald eyes blinked a few times, then squinted as the bright sun caught them. Torrentkit raised a front paw, hesitated, and tentatively placed it a few inches outside of the nursery. When nothing happened, he blinked in curiosity, his head tipping slightly to one side. He cast a glance back at his mother, who was still curled up asleep- her chest slowly rising and falling in a light sleep.
A grin crept onto the little tomkit’s muzzle as he took a few steps further out of the comfort of the dark nursery. He paused once more, then beamed and leaped about, twisting and jumping and skipping around. After a few moments, his vision was obscured by a flash of fur; right before he crashed into someone and went tumbling backwards. “Oof!” He yelped, scrambling to his paws. “Sorry, sorry!” Torrentkit apologized quickly, shaking out his pelt and nervously glancing up to see who’d he bumped into.
