Passing it on:

As promised after Sleekpaw's apprentice ceremony, the young warrior was patiently waiting at the camp's entrance for his apprentice to arrive in order to start his training. In his head, he was planning out their day, making sure to not pile on too much for their first day. What he thought was best for now was a tour of the territory and the borders then a light hunting session, aiming for each of them to at least catch one prey. Sleekpaw would have the rest of the day to himself to use as he pleased. Yeah. That sounded like a sound plan.

The warrior snapped out of his brainstorming as soon as he noticed the younger tom approach. "Ready to head out? I was thinking we could tackle a tour of the territory first then we'll do a light session of hunting. If you wish to do more after then just say so but I'm thinking we may be a little tired after all that. It is the first day, after all. But nothing's set in stone." The brown and white cat got up from where he'd been sitting and took a moment to stretch as he awaited the other's approval of the plan. He believed that as a mentor, it was important to take into consideration what the apprentices wanted. It wouldn't do anyone any good if the training was being forced upon them. Things were better learned when everyone was feeling comfortable with the situation. At least, it's what he believed.

To Sleekpaw’s delight, he was able to go out of camp immediately. He didn’t need to wait until next sunrise like some apprentices. He found Kestrelswoop and trotted over to the tom, tail curled in excitement. “Territory? Yeah, a territory tour sounds good. And hunting. I’ve never been outside of camp, but I have practiced the hunting crouch in the nursery. I mean it probably wasn’t as good as warriors like you. But I did it.” He talked like he had buckets of sugar for breakfast, if cats had such things. The young tom danced around on his paws a little. He was filled with anticipation for getting out of camp. The six long, boring moons had finally passed. In a very short time the waiting would pay off, he was sure of it.

"That's great that you've been practicing! Never hurts to be more prepared." he praised. He then flicked his tail as a signal for the other to follow him out of the camp. He decided to put up a nice, even pace as to not rush nor dawdle. "Alright, our first stops in the tour will be within the territory. Then, we'll be visiting the borders." he explained before they really got anywhere. As soon as his apprentice indicated he'd heard, the warrior nodded and began their trip.

"Here's our first site, Sleekpaw. This place here's called Snakerocks." he began as he signaled at the large pile of rocks with a paw, "This area sits under what's called the Great Sycamore." he followed that statement with a nod toward the large tree shading the area. "You can generally find plenty of herbs between the cracks and crevices of the rocks but be warned, it's not called Snakerocks for nothing. Plenty of cats have gotten bitten by the snakes that lurk around here so always keep your eyes opened for any suspicious movements. Some nasty badgers have also made this their home, unfortunately. So, that's definitely another thing to keep in mind when traveling here."

The tabby tom allowed the apprentice to take a look around -with careful supervision of course- for a bit before calling his attention back. It was time for their next stop. "Do you have any questions before we head toward the Stony Hollow?"
