Bearpaw finally lost his hold on the owl, and Swiftpaw growled as it turned to strike out at him. It hadn't taken enough damage if it was still willing to lash out at them, clearly. She leapt on top of it, claws tearing at feathers. It wasn't the best grip she could've gotten, but that would have to do. It should keep the owl down long enough to finish it off, hopefully before it could catch either of them with those sharp talons again.

Swiftpaw used Leap and Hold for -10sp, dealing -6 damage. Owl is pinned for 1 turns.

Bearpaw saw Swiftpaw jump onto the owl and pin it to the ground once more. He wasn't about to let that go to waste. He charged forward and struck out with his claws, determined to kill it before it could attack again.

The owl never got the chance to break free, as Swiftpaw sank her fangs into the back of the bird's neck. It fell still, and the apprentice curled her lip as she stepped away from the bird. Her gaze lifted to Bearpaw, instinctively scanning the other tom for injuries, though she was no medicine cat. He'd gotten caught by the owl's talons too, though it didn't seem to be too severe to her untrained eye.

"Are you alright?"

Swiftpaw used "Front Paw" Strike for -10sp, dealing -6 damage.

The owl flopped forward, lifeless. At least they had both survived the encounter. Bearpaw turned to look at Swiftpaw and was about to ask if she was alright as well. She beat him to it. He smiled and nodded once, causing a bit of blood to trickle from his forehead, but it wasn't life threatening. Maybe it would scar. "Yeah I'll be fine. Are you okay?" He eyed her shoulder, though it didn't look too bad. He wondered which of them would be taking the owl back home. He'd be happy to just let her have it, as she had dealt the killing blow, not him.

At his question, Swiftpaw glanced at her shoulder. Bloody, and it stung a bit, but the bleeding was slowing. Her short fur meant there would be no hiding it, however. Tawnyflare would have some sort of comment about it, but wasn't likely to care. Softbreeze and Shyfawn would be concerned, but Swiftpaw thought she could shrug it off to them. She'd have to clean herself up before going back to camp, though. White and pale gray fur showed blood a bit too easily.

"Just a scratch. It'll heal." Swiftpaw responded, running a bloodstained paw across the grass.
