Ein Weltherrscher [Clan Meeting - Very Important]

Pyrik settled a few tail lengths away, and began to chew on his paw. Murkystrike's tail tip flicked as she noted that, thinking that she would check up on him after the meeting. Was he concerned or worried about something? Another apprentice, Rosepaw she believed, settled on the far side of Mistyfalcon. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the she-cat nudge Mistyfalcon, and he retaliated by flicking his tail over her ear and growling something she couldn't quite catch. Well that was odd... She didn't have long to wonder what that exchange was all about before Flintstar started talking, and she kept her eyes trained on the leader as he explained that Ebonysong was stepping down, and that the new deputy would... Not be named. A flicker of disappointment wormed into her gut, but she agreed with and understood why Flintstar made the decision he did. She admired his ability to admit how he felt and his dedication to do better. Perhaps... Perhaps if she worked harder as well....

The meeting was called to a close, and Murkystrike looked to Mistyfalcon only to find that Rosepaw was looking over at her. She looked back, uncertain how she felt about the mischievous look in the apprentice's eyes. What was going on between the two? Mistyfalcon looked... Embarrassed? Rosepaw started to speak, and Murkystrike's pelt flashed with warmth as her mouth opened slightly in surprise. For a couple heartbeats, she stared at Rosepaw in shock before she curled her tail loosely around her and attempted to compose herself. "Yeah, I'm Murkystrike. Does he? Hopefully good things?" She mewed, glancing quickly towards Mistyfalcon. What was this about? Did he actually talk about her when she wasn't around? Her heart beat was getting faster with every breath, the crush that she had on the tom for a long time had been set carefully aside, Murkystrike willing to give Mistyfalcon whatever time and space he needed.

Rosepaw continued, and Murkystrike was convinced that the sun had reached it's highest point and was bearing down on her, there was no other way she could feel this warm otherwise. A quick glance to the sky showed her otherwise, and she swallowed hard, her tail flicking nervously. "I, umm... Thank... Thank you. I... I appreciate that." Her words seemed to stumble over themselves, and she bit her tongue at the name that the apprentice came up with from the two of theirs. "Musty..." She whispered softly, only perhaps Mistyfalcon or Rosepaw would hear, but it had been said nonetheless. Her eyes slowly lifted back to Mistyfalcon's as she struggled to find a way to escape the situation without seeming too odd.... She had been napping, and had just come back from training, so she couldn't really say that she had to go on a patrol... Well, maybe she could, and say that she wanted to go hunting! No, that would be suspicious...

Rosepaw spoke up, and Mistyfalcon was sure that the forest had been set ablaze. It was the only explanation for why his fur suddenly felt unbearably warm.

"I, ah..." He sputtered. Stars, she lived to torment him. "I don't-" Wide blue eyes darted between the mischievous apprentice and Murkystrike, tail fur fluffing up in alarm. If a hole suddenly appeared in the ground, Mistyfalcon would jump in and let it swallow him. Maybe that would distract him from the tightness in his chest.

"Only good thi-- You're enjoying this." He accused. He wouldn't dream of saying anything to the contrary, of course, that was if he'd been a gossiper. Which he most certainly was not. His face felt like it was burning. Mistyfalcon's face very much resembled what twolegs would call a "deer in the headlights."

"Musty..." Mistyfalcon's voice rose in pitch ever so slightly, sounding strangled to even his ears. "Was that... the best you could come up with?" He practically squeaked. If he wasn't dying on the inside he might've laughed.

If Rosepaw's goal had been to get the warrior flustered, she'd done an excellent job of it. And it looked like Murkystrike was equally as flustered. Stars, Mistyfalcon wasn't sure if he wanted to know what she was thinking. He didn't think he could handle talking with Rosepaw's sick and twisted sense of humor.

Frigidkit’s ears perked up and eyes widened as he heard the announcement, there was a specific point where he felt the fur on his tail stand on end. He took each word the leader said, processing it, understanding it In his own unique way. After the leader dismissed the clan the world fell into complete silence for the kit, personal silence that lasted a couple seconds before something finally clicked into his tiny young mind.

With this new understanding, he jumped out from the protection of the nest, approaching the group of older cats with the wide eyes and excited prancing of someone who has solved one of the biggest mysteries in life and wanting to share it with whoever is willing to listen and even those who are not.

“So…the code is Optional!” Frigidkit meowed high enough to be heard between the meows of the older warriors “Anyone can choose if they want to follow it or not depending on the situation like Flintstar did, right?”
