Similar Roots, Different Shoots [c]

Yew had been surprised, to say the least, at how easy life in the barn was. He stayed out of any other cat's way and they stayed out of his. It was lonely, but at least it wasn't around clan or family. However, today he had strayed away from the large red building and further towards Windclan. He was interested in where the borders actually were, as long as it didn't lead to anything.

However, he realised his recent good luck had run out when he spotted a warrior nearby. He wasn't technically over the border, as far as he was aware, but probably a little closer than what was welcome. But instead of running away, he turned to face the tortoiseshell she-cat, waiting for a reaction. Today, he wasn't so against a fight - he needed to check that he still had his skills, after all. Just incase. Just incase he bumped into Dawnhawk.

Fawnstep had instructed Tawnyflare to scout the borders to get a better feel for the territory, although it wasn't like they expected trouble. So when she arrived at the border closest to the barn, she had been alone. Although she realized her mistake as she spotted a cat straying along the border. And it seemed he was not planning on leaving either.

"Can I help you? I hope you're not looking for an entourage through the territory, because you're not welcome here. As I am sure you are aware." Her fur had already begun bristling as she had approached, and now she stared with narrowed eyes at the dark tortoiseshell. She had no reason to fight, yet, as he was not trespassing. But that did not mean she was not prepared.

"Leave."

It soon appeared that neither cat were willing to yield, and Yew smiled slightly, even though it was fake and forced. "No." He said simply, already squaring up for a fight. What am I doing? It was a terrible idea, picking a fight like this, but he had to do something to occupy himself. Even if it was stupid. He almost took a step backwards and fled, suddenly a lot more intimidated now that the warrior was nearer. But he firmly planted his feet in the ground and looked her in the eye. "This is my land just as much as any cat."

Bad idea. Very bad idea. But he was committed now. It was too late to run away. He ran at the Windclanner, tackling her with unsheathed claws.

Okay. Now he was trespassing. At least this time she would make sure not to kill the cat she was battling. Or try to. As soon as she felt the rogue run into her, her Asylum training kicked in, much as she loathed it, and she rolled with the tom before getting to her paws and battering him with strike after strike. She always had done pretty good with this move, even if at times she forgot it existed. It required speed, and that was always something she had. She was WindClan, after all, through and through.

"Can you not take a hint? This is WindClan territory. I will give you one last chance to turn back. But this is your final warning." She fixed the tom with a glare, standing as tall as she could. The tortoiseshell was young. He was arrogant. She could honestly see a bit of herself in him. But that did not change the fact that he was crossing boundaries. And he needed to go. Tawnyflare would not pity him because of his stupidity.

Tawnyflare used Sanctum Strike, dealing 15 damage and costing 20 Stamina. Yew is stunned for 1 turn!
