It was a particularly bitterly cold morning in the forest, and the thunderclan camp was pretty quiet aside from the soft stirring of the early patrols. Juniperkit, a single kit out of three that could not handle leaf bare's harshness, was curled up in the mossy nest, her mother's tail wrapped securely around her. The warbling sounds of morning winter birds and soft murmur of her fellow clanmates just beyond the nursery woke the little steely tabby bundle.
Blinking the sleep from eyes that shone bright like two polished aquamarine gemstones, Juniperkit tumbled away from the warmth of her mother and gave herself a nice grooming. As she smoothed out her dark tabby fur, she took notice of another kit that had gotten up just beside her and was already on her way to peek through the entrance of the nursery. Juniperkit had yet to introduce herself to the little light ginger kit.
Despite having shared a den with many other thunderclan kits, Juniperkit spent so much time with the elders and listening to their stories, she really hadn't thought to get to know the other kits. She got up and padded up beside the she-kit, mewing in a friendly tone. "Hello!", she purred, flicking her striped tail in a gleeful manner. "I'm Juniperkit, what's you're name?", her blue eyes flickered with the delight of making a friend her age. It would be nice to have someone to play with. She loved the elders, but they weren't much fun to tussle and explore with. She hoped this kit would end up being a friend for life.
