Since the Asylum's takeover of ThunderClan, Batbite found that her sleep had been restless. Well, it always had been, she'd relished in waking up when the most of the Clan was fast asleep and taking late-night strolls on her own; but now that simple freedom had been ripped away from her.

She'd been more physically restless, as well; keeping her distance from the Asylum cats meant there was hardly a spare shadow to step in. Today it had come to a head, and she'd made eye contact with one of the strangers living in their space, nodding toward the camp's entrance; and as expected he'd followed her out and toward the river. He didn't say a word, a fact for which she was grateful - she didn't want to make small talk with these intruders any more than she wanted to be a SkyClan cat.

Truthfully, she'd never had a problem with RiverClan - if she had, she likely wouldn't love Minkstream as much as she did, nor would she have learned to swim from Dappleshine or been quite as fond of Waspburn as she was; and they weren't the first cats she thought of when she wanted to pick a fight. But that fondness and familiarity for their neighbors just across the water meant the path to the river was familiar to her, and it was the one her paws carried her down.

It wouldn't take long for someone to arrive; and she wanted - no, needed; the restless energy was driving her mad - to vent somehow.

Wisteriabloom watched carefully as a dark Thunderclan she-cat sat by the river, almost as if she was waiting for someone. Staying hidden, she slipped into the river, the only thing visible was her tufted ears and yellow eyes. Her long silver pelt lay like a blanket in the freezing water. Everything was cooling now as the seasons changed. In the forest across the river, the leaves were turning as well, covering the ground.

After the birth of her kits, Wisteriabloom had had to stay in the nursery with them almost the entire time, since they were always hungry. Luckily, now that they were older, she could leave them with Cloverfrost for short periods of time, and she would happily take the freedom of being alone. Well 'alone' was a strong word. She had taken note of the rouge who had followed her through the territory, but after giving her a sharp look, the scout seemed to realise it was better to just follow in silence. Her restlessness pent-up inside, she wasn't against fighting this cat. Maybe it would help her relax.

She realised how long she had been staying still in the water, watching the Thunderclanner. A shover passed through her body, they chilly water eventually seeing through her thick layers of fur. Taking her moment, she leapt out the river, throwing herself at the black warrior. She guessed that the her opponent was probably older, but the surprise and Wisteriabloom's size meant that she had the upper hand.

Batbite supposed she ought to have been furious - or at least a little bit offended - at the surprise attack and accompanying splash (it was getting far too cold for that), but she was too pleased with the rush of adrenaline to bother. She wasn't a fighter - she wasn't large or strong enough - no, she was more of a plotting and scheming type, a tracker and a hunter. But that didn't matter at all now, when all she really wanted was an outlet for all of her frustrations and one had suddenly shown itself. Still, she was a strategist - and that was strategy what led her to grasp the RiverClanner's scruff with her teeth; shaking hard enough to almost make herself dizzy, but aiming more to disarm and distract than to really hurt.

(But if it did, then that was all well and good, wasn't it?)

Wisteriabloom had to admit, the Thunderclan warrior had been a lot more prepared than she had expected. She tried to grab her scruff, but there was so much fur to get through on the back of her neck that it gave the tabby enough time to escape. Slipping away, she tried to launch a counterattack. Her pelt was still heavy with the freezing water, so she wasn't moving as swiftly as she would've liked. Still, she was quick enough to whip around and slash at her opponent, claws unsheathed and hissing.

Wisteriabloom used Dodge-and-Fight on Batbite, costing 15 SP and dealing 7 damage. Counterattack was successful!
