It had become apparent to Ivystar that a fox loomed around the outskirts of RiverClan territory. Recent patrols had caught whiffs of its putrid scent near the dilapidated barn, where it had likely been hiding for the past moon or so. The creature was likely run off by SkyClan into RiverClan territory, which greatly annoyed the silver she-cat, but it would be fine- no need to go off and start a war over a problem easily solved. Usually, Ivystar would've chosen a more... experienced cat to tag along and run the beast off, but Bluepaw had been an apprentice for long enough to know what she was doing, and it felt like far too long since the duo had been able to properly talk. So, down the dusty old trail they walked, beside reeds growing rampantly with the recent rain. "This shouldn't take long, Bluepaw, we've got nothing to worry about. Just do as I say, and we'll be done in no time, yeah?" Her firm voice carried faint notes of adoration, knowing her young daughter was growing into a fine warrior.

As the two approached the barn, Ivystar signaled with her tail for Bluepaw to drop into a low crouch. Slowly, she moved forward, glancing back and Bluepaw every now and then to make sure that the she-cat was okay. Once the rust-colored pelt of the fox was in sight, Ivystar darted forward, fast enough that the fox wouldn't have a chance to react. Expertly, she yanked its fluffy tail, pulling it to the ground and spitting out a wad of fluffy fur. "Now, Bluepaw!"

Ivystar used Tail Yank on the fox, dealing -10 Health Points and using -10 Stamina Points. The fox is stunned for one turn.

We can either get the fox down to 45 HP and have it run off, or we can try and get it down to 0 and bring it in as fresh kill. Remember that there's a +2 passive bonus to Clan attack rolls here! ;D

Truthfully, Bluepaw couldn't call herself ready to fight anything, and she really didn't want to fight anything either. But, she knew that fighting was a part of life as a warrior, and if she were to ever become one, she'd have to tear some fur and spill some blood, as revolting as the idea was to her. The large she-cat ground her teeth as she followed her mother, anxiety oozing from every pore as the large wooden structure came into view, and the rancid fox-stench began to fill the air. She nodded along with Ivystar as the pair approached, and her mother darted forward, stunning the red-furred creature within moments.

Fear rooted her paws to the spot as the fox slammed to the ground, and it took everything in her not to turn tail and run away. She shuffled her paws for a moment, all of her battle training up to this moment whirling inside her head, and she dug her claws into the wooden floor as her indecision threatened to take over.

As the fox began to find its footing again, something clicked in the large warrior's brain, and she raced forward, claws glinting in the low light as she raked them across the russet face of the fox.

Ivystar was fully prepared to chastise her daughter for not rushing forward as soon as the command left her mouth, the apprentice's apprehension frustrating to the fluffy leader. Within the next few seconds, though, she she-cat had darted forward and made her attack, leaving the fox wide open to Ivystar. "Excellent work, Bluepaw! Keep it up!" She yowled, taking a risk by moving in closer to the fox. It ended up paying off, however, as she was able to get much closer to its face and damage one eye, rapidly dragging her claws across the russet and black colored predator. Thick crimson liquid oozed from several large scratches, one eye effectively blinded by the leader.
Ivystar used Rending Front Paws, dealing -20 Health Points and using -25 Stamina Points. The fox is no longer stunned.

Satisfied with her work, she stepped back for a moment, attempting to catch her breath... When the fox lashed out explosively. Sharp teeth clamped down on Ivystar's leg, and in a moment of panic, she shoved the fox off... Causing it to tear a deep gash in her hind leg. Adrenaline drowned out most of the pain, but Ivystar had enough experience to understand that the fox had to be brought down quickly, else she might lose a life today.

The fox used Thrash, dealing -30 Health Points and using -20 Stamina Points.

In a flash, there was blood-scent filling the air, threatening to choke Bluepaw, and she felt fear surge through her veins as a large gash was opened up on her mother's leg. Trying not to panic, and failing, she darted in, claws flashing through the air in order to get back at it for what it had done. As Ivystar had blinded one of the fox's eyes, the large apprentice went for the other, raking her claws down its face and over its eye. She wasn't sure how effective it'd be, but it was a chance that she'd take in the heat of the moment.
