A quail goes hunting on his own (solo)

The missing kits were on everyone's mind lately. Especially since they were gone for a few days now. But the clan had to keep on going. The fresh kill pile was starting to look empty, so Quailpaw decided that he would go out and try hunting some prey. (And maybe try to find a missing kit)

The dark grey tabby lifted his nose scenting the air for any scent. Be it prey, preadator or kit. Suddenly a smell met Quailpaw's nose.

Quailpaw lowered his body, as he stalked towards the origin of the smell. He peaked his head out of the bush, when he saw a squrriel, sitting comfortably on top of a rock. Quailpaw smirked, before lowering his body even more and slowly padding over to the squrriel. Soon enough he saw only half a tail length away from it and readied his paws to pounce.

The squrriel quickly turned its head behind it, only to be leapt on by Quailpaw. He swiftly bitted down on its neck before the it became limp. Quailpaw lifted his head, the squrriel in his jaws as he took in the place was in. There were other rocks, most of them tiny openings that something could easily slip out of. Snakerocks. Better move to somewhere else. Quailpaw thought before turning back towards the forest.
