CULTURE & Customs | The winds guide every cat that walks these moors, from the tiniest kit, to the mightiest warrior. With every breeze that blows, the voices of our Warrior Ancestors can be heard, singing words of wisdom for all those willing to listen. Whether it be in the gentle blowing of the grass beneath our paws, or a strong gust that lifts us off the ground, they are always here. For we are WindClan, the Clan of the swift and faithful. It is here that cats run free, racing with the winds. And if it is here you choose to join, you will find a family like no other.
CULTURE:
Moor Runners: Taking advantage of fast speed, and long legs these group of warriors excel at running across the rolling moors. While most warriors are trained this way, they are still valuable. Their speed allows them to chase down even the fastest of targets, as well as carry information far distances allowing crucial information reach the ears of those who need it.
Tunnelers: Taking advantage of the tunnels that run beneath Windclan's territory, Windclan's Tunnelers are a group of cats trained in digging, constructing, and navigating the territory's tunnel systems. These cats experience careful training to maintain safety while traversing the tunnels, and may be consulted on matters regarding the tunnels. The tunnels can be used from anything to spying, to escaping dangerous situations, to providing safety. However, one must be careful when discussing the tunnels, as they are kept secret from the rest of the clans.

RULES & DECIPLINE | GENERAL RULES:
Aside from the warrior code, there are a few rules that Tigerstar enforces.
Buddy System: A rule in which no cat is permitted to leave camp on their own, and must bring another cat with them. This includes warriors. [Carried over from Smallstar's leadership]
Skirmish Reports: Any border skirmishes are expected to be reported directly to either Tigerstar or Sootstorm. This is in order to ensure that leadership is aware of any possible conflicts. It is expected that the medicine cat will report any battle wounds treated as well. [Carried over from Smallstar's leadership]
Medicine Cat Passage: Any medicine cats and their companions are allowed to pass through Windclan territory without interference. They may be stopped by patrols for a quick conversation but their path to the moonstone should not be impeded. [Implemented at the March 2024 Gathering]
Failure to comply with any of the above rules may result in IC consequences.
Clan Acceptance Policy: While Tigerstar is not too fond of outsiders he is willing to negotiate integrating the outsider into the clan. All outsiders wishing to join Windclan must undergo apprentice training, and will remain at apprentice rank until Windclan's leadership determines that the outsider is officially ready to become a part of the clan. This means that the outsider is trustworthy and accepting of clan ways. The outsider must choose to take a warrior name if they want to be fully accepted into the clan.
Kits are always accepted into Windclan, but efforts will be made to return the kit to their kin before they are permitted to permanently reside within Windclan.
Clan exiles are accepted on a very strict case-by-case basis. The exile must make a case for themself, and Tigerstar will meet with the leader of the exiled cat's clan of origin before allowing the cat to reside within Windclan in order to confirm the reason of the cat's exile, and to be sure that no consequences will be had for harboring the exile. Afterwards, it is up to Windclan's leadership whether or not the exiled cat is permitted to join Windclan.
Forbidden Romance Policy: If it is found that a member of Windclan is involved in a forbidden romance, it is expected that the cat will tell one of Windclan's high ranks themself. The mate of the Windclanner is expected to join Windclan. If for any reason the mate of the Windclanner does not want to join Windclan, the relationship must be ended immediately. However, if there are kits involved, the Windclanner is expected to bring their mate and kits to Windclan, If they choose not to then the Windclanner will be exiled.
If the mate chooses to reside within Windclan, they will train as an apprentice for a short period of time, and will only be permitted to re-rank to warrior status once they have proven their loyalty to Windclan.
If the Windclanner involved in the forbidden romance chooses to stay and end the relationship with the outsider, then they will be made to go through apprentice training again to prove their loyalty to their clan.
Punishment System: Tigerstar uses no set punishment system. Light punishments are decided by either Sootstorm or Tigerstar himself. In the case that the rule-breaker is an apprentice, the apprentice's mentor is permitted to punish the apprentice as they see fit, although if any extreme punishments occur it will be seen to by a High Rank. Light punishments may be anything from having apprentice duties, to being forced to stay at camp during the next gathering. Acts that may warrant these punishments may include eating before the elders and queens are fed, lying, or leaving camp by one's self.
Moderate punishments are decided by either Tigerstar or Sootstorm, and may include being assigned a temporary supervising warrior, temporary rank demotion, or temporary confinement to camp, the lengths of which may depend on the violation. Acts that may warrant these punishments may include purposefully trespassing and stealing prey from other territories, attacking a clanmate,
Harsh punishments are left up to Tigerstar and Sootstorm. The rule-breaker will be face the Higher Ranks for trial. Punishments may consider exile or execution. Acts to warrant these punishments may include murder, mauling, or treason. Note that it is extremely unlikely execution will be a consequence, but it is up to the decision of the council.

PHYSICAL & SOCIAL | TRAITS:
Although cats of all shapes and sized reside within Windclan, most of which stand tall with a small, wiry frame. With typically long legs, one is able to glance at these cats and know that they are runners. Their build, although thin, has developed in a way that puts muscular emphasis on the back legs and shoulders, a result of chasing hares and running with the winds for generations.
Passive Clan Move: Moor Runner: 1 less HP is taken in open areas.
Active Clan Move: Swift Strike: Use an attack in the same turn as a Standard Move up to twice per topic.

INTER-CLAN RELATIONSHIPS:
Currently, border skirmishes are discouraged, if a talk can happen it is preferred, but if someone crosses into Windclan territory then fighting is permitted. If any skirmish is to occur, it is to be reported directly to Sootstorm or Tigerstar. Claws are expected to stay sheathed and peace encouraged to be kept along the borders. Disobeying may result in IC consequences.
Thunderclan: NEUTRAL Due to the change of leadership, and previous cause of tensions being gone, things with Thunderclan remain neutral.
Riverclan: TENSE The tensions between Windclan and Riverclan have been high since Perchstar lead a patrol of warriors to claim the gorge, which ultimately had been successful at Windclan's surrender.
Shadowclan: TENSE After the death of many warriors in a battle patrol lead by Shadowclan, and their warrior crossing the border and attacking an apprentice, things with Shadowclan are considered tense.
Skyclan: NEUTRAL Nothing noteworthy has happened of late between Windclan and Skyclan.[/size]

TERRITORY | NOTABLE LOCATIONS:
The Flower Field: A large field in The territory that blooms with a variety of flowers depending on the season. It’s also home to a rabbit Warren that spans into the rest of the territory.
Lone Stump: The remaining stump of an old oak tree that once gave shelter against the harsh moor winds. This is the favored burrowing location of rabbits and other small prey. From the top, you can look over much of the territory.
The Tunnels: A complex maze beneath the surface of the windswept moors that was dug by countless rabbits, foxes, and badgers. While dangerous, cramped, and dark, these tunnels allow cats to go almost everywhere.
DISPUTED TERRITORIES:
The Gorge: held by WINDCLAN
Hidden Outcropping: held by WINDCLAN
