Hello friends! Mosspelt here with a pretty big update for everyone.

First on the list is a couple of smaller, clarification and ease of access type things. The first you may have already noticed, Sunningrocks has been moved! It was mentioned that as a disputed border territory, it would be better among the rest of the Areas of the Forest instead of as a Sub-board of RiverClan. However, instead of having a StarClan symbol, it will have the symbol of the clan that currently claims it as their own - currently RiverClan. Second is a teensy addition to the Hunting System information. We clarified that the hunting dice (well, any dice really, but you usually see it in hunting topics) can not be rolled as part of the first post. This is to help prevent any understandable confusion when you go to roll the dice and it simply isn't there! Please reach out if you have further questions or suggestions related to these two things.

Second on the list is one of our beefier updates. Some of you may remember seeing or being part of the discussion on reintroducing elder slots, but with a twist. After a lot of consideration and discussion, Staff has decided that we will give these NPC elder slots a try - with some rules and stipulations in place of course.

1. Each Clan will have three open NPC elder slots. These slots will be earned in the same way MCA slots are, if interested you will fill out the code found below and apply. After a five day waiting period, voting will open. The first to eight votes will receive the slot.
   
2. NPC Elder slots are considered to be a free slot. These cats start as elders, so you can fill the void of their life as you see fit, but they will not count towards your three character limit.
   
3. Only one NPC Elder slot per roleplayer. Since this is a free slot, there is a limit of one NPC Elder slot per roleplayer, even if they're in different clans.
   
4. There is a term limit of one year for NPC Elder slots. To give everyone who wants a chance to be old Dustybones, we are implementing a one year limit for the lifespan of the NPC Elders.

"But Mosspelt," you say, "what about my warrior that I spent months ranking up? Do I get anything for retiring them when they get old?" I have a surprise for you as well! Along with the NPC slots, we've included the regular elders in our considerations!

1. If you are retiring a Tier 5 Warrior or Tier 4 Medicine Cat, you may utilize one free elder slot. This includes Tier 5 Deputies and Leaders.
   
2. These slots do not have a term limit. Unlike the NPC elders, these are your characters that you spent time developing - you may keep them as long as you like.
   
3. You may only have one Elder (or Permaqueen) slot at a time. You can't stack Elder slots, if you have a NPC elder, you can't use your free elder slot for your Tier 5 warrior, and vice versa.
   
4. Any extra elders must use a regular slot. If you want to retire multiple cats, or one cat and are holding a NPC elder slot, you can still retire the character! They will simply count towards your character limit.
   
5. Once a cat is retired, that's it. Once your character is an elder, they can not go back to being a warrior.
   
6. Elders and Permaqueens do not fight voluntarily. They may fight back if attacked, but otherwise they can not join ThunderClan's raid of Sunningrocks.
   
7. Elders may hunt in extreme circumstances, and are encouraged to attend Gatherings. Spread that elder gossip!
   
8. Once a Tier 5 Warrior or Tier 4 Medicine Cat is retired, they will keep the unlocked fourth slot. They will be indicated on the Allegiances for ease of identifying and tracking.
   

I know this is a lot to take in, and we're still ironing out some of the details. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, or to gain clarification! As we open these slots, we're going to take it slow - start with one clan and work our way through until we're all set with whomever wants their slots. These changes are effective immediately, so please be on the lookout as we open the elder slots for applications!
