Those Who Wander [solo]

As much as Olivestone loved being deputy, a mentor and having a mate all at the same time, she still liked taking some time to herself to relax and just run for the sake of running. She loved the moor and WindClan, and was always grateful that her life ended up this way, and loved being able to serve her Clan as a way of thanking them for all they've done for her. With nothing but the wind in her fur, the ground under her paws and the sky above, the gray tabby raced across the moor, body streamlined as she cut through the wind, legs propelling her forward. Her aimless running took her towards the further reaches of the territory, where no other Clan shared borders. Before long, the scent markings denoting the edge of the territory greeted her nose, and she slowed to a stop finally, standing a little less than a tail-length away from the border between home and the rest of the world. Taking a little while to survey the world that she could see beyond the border, she smiled before turning to trot along the border. As pretty as the world beyond the territory could be, the deputy found that her heart lay within, and soon, her wandering began to lead her away from the border and back towards camp.

Still, she was in no rush, and as she wandered, prey scent alerted her to a hunting opportunity.

On the next hill, a rabbit was grazing with a few others, hopping around as they nibbled on the long stalks of grass. The breeze was blowing towards the deputy, and she used that to her advantage, creeping around the clumps of heather and through the tall grass, waiting for the perfect moment to break out the speed that WindClan was known for. One of the rabbits hopped a few tail-lengths away from the others, and that's the one she fixed in her sight. She gathered her hind legs beneath her, and she sprang out of the grass and towards the rabbit at full tilt.

The rabbit had little chance to react, and it soon fell victim to her claws and teeth. The other rabbits had scattered at her appearance, but if she waited long enough, they'd slowly regroup.

Olivestone attempted to catch a rabbit. She was successful.

Flattening some grass over her kill, Olivestone took note of the direction of the wind and slowly circled around to where it was blowing towards her. As she'd predicted, the rabbits had regrouped, but they were staying much closer together now, and weren't straying as far away from each other as the first one had. For now, it was simply a waiting game. The deputy had plenty of time on her paws, and she knew that one slip-up from the rabbits meant that they would become dinner.

It didn't take too long, thankfully, for her to notice a weak spot in their huddle.
If I run there, I can cut one of them off from the group when they scatter.

With a smile, she prepared for the hunt once more, and gathered her back legs under her before pelting towards the rabbits at a more controlled speed. The rabbits scattered exactly as she'd wanted them to, and she pelted full tilt after the rabbit she'd separated from the group. As expected, the rabbit was unable to outrun her, and too, fell to her claws.

Olivestone attempted to hunt a rabbit. She was successful.

Satisfied with her hunting for the day, she retrieved her other catch, ready to head towards home. Head held high, she carried both rabbits with minimal difficulty, and pushed her way into camp, happy to see her Clanmates doing well. She put one of the rabbits in the fresh kill pile, and took the other to eat after her wandering. She settled down under the Tallrock with her catch, and surveyed the camp, reminded of the love she had for her home and the Clan she shared it with.
