Viperkit's Apprentice Ceremony

It had been quite a while since Ivystar had performed an apprentice ceremony. This was mostly due to the fact that Stormbringer, her lovely mate and deputy, had been performing them since she'd become her right paw. She'd truly been an excellent deputy, so Ivystar supposed it would be quite nice to give her a break from her duties and take over the apprentice ceremonies for the moon. Seeing the little kits receiving a mentor and moving dens would never get old. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gathering beneath the Willow Branch for a Clan meeting!" She yowled, leaping to the branch.

Viperkit was in the middle of a game when Ivystar called the Clan to meet. She jumped up onto her paws and shook out the sand from her pelt before she trotted over to join her Clanmates. She held her head and tail high as she picked a spot. She glanced around her for anyone that looked like they might challenge her for joining despite being a kit— she was ready to bite back with a retort that she was old enough to start her training. No cat seemed to take the bait though, and she turned to look up at her leader. If Ivystar was calling the Clan together, it must be important.

With Viperkit in sight, Ivystar began the ceremony. "Viperkit, please step forward." When she did so, Ivystar continued continued. Her eyes searched the warriors around her, trying to decide who would be best fit for the young she-cat. "Viperkit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day onward until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Viperpaw. Your mentor will be Honeytongue." With the ceremony complete, Ivystar leaped from the branch and headed towards her den, letting the Clan celebrate.
