Bloodstrike eyed the thrush carefully as well as his apprentice. She moved toward it, her form correct and no objects in her way like the twig last time. His heart lurched in sympathy for her when her claws hit the bird, but didn't pin it. Still, the thrush had been foolish enough to sit on a branch not far, and Sweetpaw went after it again. Bloodstrike held very still and waited, his muscles tense. To his surprise, and satisfaction, she managed to get onto the same branch and carefully make her way toward it. She closed in and made a swift kill, and Bloodstrike surged with pride for her.

"Excellent!" He said to her proudly as he padded to the tree and waited for her at the base. "That was great work, Sweeptaw!" He praised her. From experience he saw the easiest way to get down from the tree, but he wasn't going to tell her. He wanted to see what she would do.

"Just bring it to the ground now." He sat down and waited for her, not giving any indication on how she should make her way down with the extra weight of the bird in her mouth. Still, he was ready to break her fall if needed.

((You go ahead and decide which predator and bring it in. You control it, unless you prefer I do.))

Do you think you could by chance? I was thinking either a snake or eagle but im fine with whatever you are comfortable with))

Sweetpaw heard her mentor's praise and beamed happily her fur fluffed up a bit in happiness before she had to focus on the task in front of her. She held the bird firmly as it was obvious her mentor wouldn't be telling her how to get down any time soon. She pinned her ears back and glanced around for a moment before she looked to the tree next to the one she was on that had a slightly lower branch. She couldn't think of a way down. Carrying the bird to climb back down the trunk wouldn't be the best idea and she doubted jumping down would be smart either. So eyeing the distance she moved to the lower branch carefully. Managing to land on the thick branch. Her fur prickled nervously before she moved to the base of the branch judging the distance to the ground ahe figured she could make the jump and carefully jumped down at first stumbling before she catching herself and set the bird down.

*** Eagle ***

A shadow passed over the creek as the soaring eagle spied the small apprentice cat from a great distance away. Catching the hot air thermals, the eagle effortlessly glided with impressive swiftness toward the two cats. It was wary of the large one, but thought for sure it could at least take the smaller one, or whatever it was holding. A small bird it looked like...

The eagle closed in fast, talons outstretched, but the angle that it came in at and the way the tree was positioned slightly ruined it's shot. The eagle was young, only having left it's mother's nest about a month ago, and was still learning how to hunt certain prey more efficiently. Instead of a full, hard-hitting swoop, it would have to veer off to the side to avoid colliding with the tree. It aimed it's talons at the smaller cat, aiming for a solid strike on it's head and hoped that would be enough to knock it out or scare it into dropping it's prey.

*** Bloodstrike ***

Bloodstrike watched her climb down and watched the gears turning in her head. A Skyclan cat should know how to navigate trees. If she ever looked really really stuck, he would assist her. Eventually, she did come down... but before Bloodstrike could react at all, an eagle to his left caught his eye, barreling straight for his apprentice.

"MOVE!" Bloodstrike yowled. It was all he could do before the eagle's talons closed in on his apprentice. He didn't see whether or not it got Sweetpaw, because he was already moving toward it. Kicking mightily off of the ground and propelling his bobcat sized body toward the eagle, Bloodstrike intended to do his absolute worst to the giant bird. How dare it threaten someone in his care?

Bloodstrike's body landed on the eagle and the eagle screeched in surprise. Bird and cat fell to the earth with Bloodstrike on top of it, ripping into it with all of his fury. Seetpaw could assist if she liked, but Bloodstrike wasn't about to call her over either. Eagles could be very dangerous.

Sweetpaw had been taken off gaurd by the sudden appearance of the Eagle that as it went overhead she just barely felt the wond whip over her head. She shook her head for a moment stunned before she moved to assist her mentor not thinking twice about the dropped bird. She scampered over her claws digging into dirt as she made her way over trying to assist in any way possible as she moved finding a good opening the apprentices raked her unsheathed paw over an area that she could get on the eagle.

Sweetpaw used front paw strike using 10 sp and dealing 6 damage:

*** Eagle ***

The eagle eventually got it's talons underneath it and threw the larger cat off of it, but it had taken quite a bit of effort. It took a few steps on uncertain legs with it's wings out to try to get a better shot at the cats attacking it, but it did not appear that it would be fast enough to move and strike for now.

Eagle is no longer stunned!

Smiling a bit at Sweetpaw's bravery, Bloodstrike prepared his next move as he knew the eagle would throw him off at this point. They were such powerful birds... The instant his feet touched the earth behind him, Bloodstrike was already attacking again while the eagle was still unable to react.

"Immobilize it again if you can!"

He shouted the order, just before he stood on his hind legs and slashed at the eagle's face, hoping to take an eye or two.

Sweetpaw movved back when the eagle broke free and for a moment her ears pinned back against her head. She seen her mentor waste no time to go in and atrack so she wouldn't hesitate if she could help it. Her fure bristled quietly,hearing her mentor's orders she gave a firm nodd before she moved around the eagle as quickly as she could manage. With unsheathed claws she bunch her musles and leapt at the eagles back. Compared to her mentor she didn't weigh as much nor was she as big as her mentor but she would try her best as she mimiced the move he used earlier. She dug her claws into its feathered back that already had claw marks scared into it from her mentor.

The eagle had been too focused on the larger car slashing at it's face to pay much attention to the younger cat. It ended up costing it dearly. The lighter cat landed on it's back and dropped it to the ground again. The eagle thrashed and flailed, but it didn't matter. It was already too tired from throwing the heavier cat off of it earlier. Blood began to pour from it as it struggled. It was taking too much damage.

"Amazing Sweetpaw!" He roared encouragingly once she got the eagle to the ground. She would be safer there anyway. Now all he needed to do was end this as fast as he could while she still held the eagle prone.

Bloodstrike continued to lash out with his claws, tearing into the bird and making its wounds deeper and deeper.

Sweetpaw heard her mentor's roar of praise and she smiled some but kept focused as the multicolored she cat continued raking her claws into the bird thankful she had been able to pin the larg sized bird down.

Darkness had entered into the eagle's vision and his thrashing became weaker and weaker. It had lost too much blood. It's muscles no longer responded well when it tried to move. This was the end for it. Like so many young eagles in the world, over 75% of them, this one would not live to see it's first birthday. The eagle thrashed a bit more, but it knew it's time had come...

Bloodstrike had killed enough things in his lifetime to recognize the last throes of life. It was time to end this fight and to end the eagle's suffering. He silently thanked Starclan for the meal that he and his apprentice were about to drag back into camp. He struck out once more with powerful front claws, most certainly ending the eagle's life.

And with that, Bloodstrike examined his apprentice. She had a scratch on her head and she was bleeding, but it was nowhere near as bad as it could have been. Bloodstrike himself fought an eagle once, and boy did it tear him up....

"Are you alright? Do you want to go get checked by Sagelight? Faces and heads tend to bleed a lot, so it's not as bad as you think but I can still take you if you want to go right now. How are you feeling?" He wasn't sure he should be asking her so much at once, but... he both wanted to know how she was and also reassure her that she would be fine. He wasn't panicking, but he was definitely concerned for her.

As the eagle's life was taken from it the apprentices adrenaline was fading and she could feel the pain from the cut on her head she didn't feel moment before. As she stepped off of the eagle she winced a bit. She heard her mentor and the swarm of questions. Her ears flattened as she tried to process it through the pain"I...can wait til we get back to camp...it only hurts a little"She mewed quietly.

Bloodstrike was surprised by her answer. She was... tougher than he thought she'd be. He smiled, but still examined the wounds himself. They weren't too terribly deep, but oh boy her mother would not be happy. She thought she could handle it, so he would allow it for as long as she acted otherwise normal. If she even so much as staggered or slightly missed a step, she was going immediately to Sagelight.

"Well what's your plan for this eagle now? You caught a thrush, I caught a squirrel and now we have an eagle. How much more do you think we can carry?" It was an honest question and not at all chiding her. If she had ideas, he wanted to hear them. He had ideas himself, but he wasn't going to say them out loud. This was her training session, not his.

"I definitely think you should pick a feather from this eagle to be yours. Put it in your den as a reminder of your first battle. You did very well, and you were very brave. You'll make a fine warrior Sweetpaw, I have no doubt."

Sweetpaw had remained still letting him examine her wound for a moment her ears pinned back for a moment. Once he finished she blinked thinking for a long moment on what she they should do. On one paw there was the big eagle they would need to carry now on top of the thrush and the squirrel."Perhaps...bring the eagle and our teo peices of prey back...perhaps...if we caught more we would need to figure out how to carry the extended amount on top...of carrying the eagle"She spoke in thought before she gave a small nod"okay I will"she mewed happily.
