Another beautiful day in the forest. With a new litter being apprenticed, the warriors and apprenticed hustled about, in and out of camp. The kits still in the nursery played and observed the life around them. The queens relaxed, and chatted with eachother. The elders slept, or talked to the kits, telling the stories. Daisybloom had been busy this past moon, taking on more and more duties by the day. One thing she loved was herb hunts. Often, she and a warrior would head off to collect herbs. And today was another great day for that. Looking around for a companion, she spotted someone.

Walking up to the warrior, she smiled. ”Uh..hello.” she whispered quietly. Ugh, that would not do. She had to be more loud as confident, like Mossbloom was. ”H-hi, Willowheart. Would you like to...erm, go on a herb hunt?” she asked. Her nervousness still got a hold of her sometimes, but it was improving as she grew more and more confident of her skills.

Willowheart was going out to hunt, when someone stopped her. Ears raised in surprise, she spotted Daisybloom. “Oh! Hello! Yeah, sure!” She decided to hunt later. Following Daisybloom, Willowheart asked, “How is Mossbloom? I heard that she was sick...” Worry buried deeply into her stomach as she thought of the medicine cat. Last time when she had gone on a herb hunt with Mossbloom, she had sounded really sick.

Daisybloom was happy the warrior had agreed. When she asked about the other medicine cat, she sighed. ”It was pretty bad, after last moons’s medicine cat meeting. But she’s dfeiinetky healing. It was some sort of fever.” she explained. She had been very nervous. She wouldn’t have been ready if Mossbloom had needed to retire or if the illness had taken her. She needed the older she-cat to stay alive, even if just for a bit more. She needed her help.

The medicine cat led the way through the forest, trying to find a good spit to start. When she reached a vegetated area, she turned to Willowheart. ”Check with me if you find anything. There’s some things that you don’t want to be touching.” she explained. Like the death berries she had encountered on her first herb hunt.

Looking through a bush, she found some familiar little round nuts. Cob nuts! Grabbing a few, she took them back to her little pile. It was nice to have some, if anyone got some scratches. They were easy to prepare, as well. It was great that the trip had started off so well! .

Willowheart nodded, before padding around, foraging and looking and smelling for herbs. When she spotted a weird looking plant hidden beneath some bushes, Willowheart called Daisybloom over. “Hey, Daisybloom? Are those herbs or what?” Hairy leaves accompanied star shaped flowers in shades of blue and purple. Willowheart was convinced she’d seen them before.

Daisybloom turned, looking at what she held. ”Oh! Borage leaves! Perfect!” Mossbloom had used some of these on her own, and some of the queens had needed these. It was perfect that Willowheart had found some. ”Nice job.” she mewed with a smile. Turning into the clump before her, she scanned for herbs.

That’s when she spotted her namesake, a daisy. Although the petals and the actual flower didn’t have medicinal use, the Daisy Leaf has use too ease pained joints. Plucking a few, she grabbed them and found her way back towards Willowheart as she searched for herbs.

Willowheart nodded, before plucking the borage carefully. Padding towards the small pile of herbs, she dropped the plants inside, before turning around and using a paw to sweep away some useless leaves. Spotting another strange looking plant, she poked it lightly with one forepaw. “Hmm...” It was a plant that had crinkled and ragged leaves, strange looking and herb looking for sure. “Daisybloom? Just to double check, this is a herb right?”

Daisybloom quickly padded over, to see what Willowheart had found. She recognized it as parsley pretty quickly. "Yeah, that's parsley. Grab some of that, if you can." she said, before turning back to her area. Nose to the ground, she ruffled through the bushes until she spotted something. It was a beautiful purple flower. "Mint!' she exclaimed, grabbing some. With the way things were going, they wouldn't need to be out here much longer.
