sneaking out of camp (open!)

Shadekit watched Mottlekit as she tried to sit there silently. He flicked his tail gently, beckoning her closer. When she was watching, he gazed at her once more and slowly slipped his ebony paw into the water, not making a single ripple. The little minnows came to it and began nibbling on the bubbles caught in his toe-fur. He slightly smiled as he waited for Mottlekit to try.

Mottlekit moved a little closer to Shadekit as he beckoned her with his tail. She watched as he gently slid another paw into the water. It seemed like he wanted her to try as well, but she was afraid she'd just scare off all the fish. Hesitantly, she lifted one paw and reached towards the water.

She paused for another second before touching the water. Taking a deep breath, she very slowly slid her paw towards the fish, trying not to make a splash. But she wasn't used to doing this, and a few ripples radiated out from her paw. The fish darted away, and she sighed in disappointment. She looked at Shadekit, eyes wide and sad.

Shadekit didn't scold her or look disappointed. Instead, he grabbed her paw and gently curled his ebony toes around hers so he could control her paw. The dark tom-kit ever so gently dipped her paw into the water at a slight angle. The little minnows swam away, but then came back after a moment. Slowly removing his paw, he watched as the minnows swam around and nibbled at Mottlekit's paw.

Mottlekit stared in awe as the minnows nibbled at her paw. It felt weird, but she was careful to stay perfectly still so they wouldn't be scared off. She turned her gaze to Shadekit and opened her mouth to thank him, but then remembered how he never spoke. Maybe there's something to that. I'll give it a try. She gave him a grateful nod and wrapped her tail around his. Then she turned back to the minnows and watched as they continued to swim around her paw.

Shadekit felt something spark inside him as she just nodding a silent thanks- and better, wrapped her tail into his. He relaxed and blushed, leaning over and giving her a tiny lick on the cheek to clear off some dirt. (He just wants an excuse to give her a smootchie-) Gazing back at the minnows, he watched as they nibbled her paw peacefully and swam around unharmed.

Mottlekit blushed as Shadekit licked her cheek. She looked down at the fish again, partially to hide the big smile on her face. The minnows kept swimming peacefully around her paw. Mottlekit loved the way their scales glinted in the sun. Someday, she would hunt them to feed her clan, but for today, she was just watching.

The dark tom-kit blushed more, gazing back down at the minnows as well. One of the minnows splashed up and flicked water into his face. He held in a chuckle and relaxed, letting the cool droplets of water seep into his chest and face fur.
