The Viper and the Cedar [closed for Patch]

Cedarpaw was out hunting. As she saw a squirrel passing by, she chased it. As it bounded across the Thunderpath, she chased it, forgetting about the Shadowclan territory she was crossing into. When she caught the squirrel, it laid limp in her jaw. Where am I? She wondered. As she looked around, she caught the scent of Shadowclan. Oh no.. She looked around, trying to see a cat. Suddenly, she saw a horde of monsters zooming along the Thunderpath. She realized she was stuck in the territory now. Frantically, she waited, hoping that a Shadowclan cat wouldn’t come and see her.

Most cats hated being near the thunderpath, but Viperpaw didn't mind it. As long as she didn't get too close she didn't feel like she was in any danger, and the loud noises could drown out her thoughts. They too often turned dark, and sometimes it was nice to just not think.

The smoke she-cat was in one of those moods where she wanted to be alone, which included her thoughts. She'd been missing her mother particularly badly. It didn't seem like she'd get her wish, though, as the sound of a particularly loud monster made her look over to see a ThunderClan cat.

Eyes narrowing, she moved closer, trying to keep a graceful air about her as she stepped, but only managing to look like an awkward apprentice with paws still too big for her body. "Someone seems to be on the wrong side of the thunderpath. Just because it sounds like ThunderClan doesn't make you the owner of it, you know."

Cedarpaw let out a little hiss. ”Calm down, I just was trying to not get killed by a monster!” she said, backing away from Viperpaw. She waited, hoping the apprentice would just let her leave, instead of attacking her. It seemed that this may not be the case, however.

"You shouldn't have been on this side of the border anyway," Viperpaw pointed out, narrowing her eyes, "Besides, it looks like you've caught prey on our territory. I can't just let you go." And with that, she struck out with a front paw, claws unsheathed. She hadn't been in a great mood, but this immediately made her feel a little bit better.

Cedarpaw growled as she was attacked. If they were gonna battle, she was gonna do some damage. She looked at her opponent, pausing, hoping to surprise her with her next attack. Suddenly, she leapt onto the apprentice, pinning her down angrily. This apprentice was mad. And she was ready to show it.

Cedarpaw used Leap and Hold, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 stamina. It is affective for one turn.

Viperpaw was stuck and there was nothing she could do about it. She snarled, struggling uselessly. She tried to keep her anger in check most of the time, but she could feel it bubbling under the surface. When she got out of this, she was going to make this cat pay.

Cedarpaw watched Viperpaw struggling under her grasp. She got up, but without giving her anytime to think, she had turned around and she slashed at the exposed underbelly with her hind legs. She knew Viperpaw would attack soon after, and she tried to make herself as ready as she could be for the blow. Her eye’s locked on her opponent, watching everything she did. She just hoped she wouldn’t blink. She could tell that Viperpaw was gonna go hard.

Viperpaw could certainly feel her wounds stinging, but she wasn't ready to give up yet. She hadn't done a lot of fighting training, but she could feel her claws itching with the urge to leap back into the fray, and she listened. Scrambling to her paws, she caught her balance and immediately launched herself at Cedarpaw, managing to land on her and pin her this time.

Viperpaw uses Leap-And-Hold, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 stamina. Cedarpaw is pinned for 2 turns.

Cedarpaw struggled as she was cast under Viperpaw she struggled to get up. She let out a growl. She was going to attack this cat very badly when she got up. If she ever did. Cedarpaw was very stuck and wasn’t sure how long it would take to get up.

Viperpaw used her size to her advantage. Usually she hated that she was so large, as she felt it made her less feminine, but right now at least it was useful.

"Not so tough now, huh, ThunderClan?" And she dug her claws in deeper before using one paw to bop the other apprentice with unsheathed claws.

Cedarpaw winced as the claws dug into her once again. She growled, aggravated by this cat. She struggled to get up, but once again, she was stuck. She didn’t think she could go much longer before she got seriously hurt. This Shadowclan apprentice was pretty good at battling.

Viperpaw felt pride that she was going to be able to do this, to chase the ThunderClan apprentice from their land. She was a strong and loyal ShadowClan cat...And she really needed to focus! With a hiss, she jumped off of Cedarpaw and gave her a whomp! of a smack on the hind quarters, but she at least sheathed her claws this time.

"Get out of here." She growled.

Cedarpaw yowled as she was smacked, with all of her injuries it was just too much. She hissed angrily before running back across the Thunderpath. She ran until she reached their camp. Limping back in, the exhausted she-cat collapsed in the medicine den, ready to be healed up.
