Shade on a Foggy Evening. Tangled with thoughts (Open after kits post)

Shadestrike had found herself with a healthy litter of three. There was a fluffy tortoiseshell kit, a fluffy grey kit and a dark grey kit with tangled fur. The dark grey kit had tangled fur so she named her Tanglekit. The tortoiseshell was mostly ginger and she and her littermates had been born in the evening, so she named her Eveningkit. The last was the fluffy grey kit. Her fur reminded her of fog, that evening in particular was foggy so she thought the name 'Foggykit' was fitting.

Shadestrike was now curled around her litter. She found herself buried with thoughts. They were recently born and had just opened their little eyes. She couldn't help herself from purring at the sight of them. They were all pretty and adorable and this feeling, a motherly feeling washed over her. Her yellow gaze was filled with love for every kit. She licked their heads, meowing their names one-by-one. "Tanglekit, Eveningkit and... Foggykit." She stared at them for a long time. They were all... Beautiful.

The kit named Eveningkit was the calmest out of the three. She was sleeping, buried in her mother's fur next to her siblings. When she had opened her eyes, they were different shades of blue. But her eyes were closed now. She was pressing her nose against her grey-tipped, fluffy tail.

OOC: Short and lazy

Foggykit was soundly sleeping, curled up against her littermates. The gentle purring around her ruffled her downy fur and infantile features. As her mother spoke, she wriggled around in protest of the relatively loud noise, managing to slap one of the kits around her with a clumsy, waving paw.

Tanglekit rubbed her face with an itty bitty paw as she stirred in her slumber. Where there should have been a long, elegant muzzle, her face was flattened with her little nose settled between her round eyes. The kit chuffed as her sister smacked this smushed face and rolled over to deliver a few weak kicks to her littermate's side. Tanglekit's fur was still damp and unnaturally messy. She didn't seem to mind that much as she scrambled up to her mother's belly, crying for milk and affection. She did not know what life she had been born into, but she begun it the upward battle of looking positively bizzare.

Shadestrike, with a swift push over her tail, moved her kits closer towards her belly, of course some of her kits were there already, but she held them as close as possible. She also tried licking Tanglekit's fur down but it seemed impossible. She gazed back over all of her kits, before seeing the little face of Eveningkit give a little squeal before opening her eyes. "Awe, Eveningkit opened her eyes!" She purred excitedly.

Ebonykit opened her eyes to the mewling of newborn kits. “There were three!” She thought excitedly. She would have three possible new friends, if they would play with her.

Hi Windwillow! After a topic has not been posted in for a month, it is considered "dead" and cannot be posted in again. It would also not make sense for Ebonykit to be here chronologically, since she did not exist in January, when this topic was active. All three of these kits are apprentices now!
