Hollowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Another day, another ceremony. They weren't his favorite thing to do, Flintshard much preferred going about his duties in silence but ceremonies were one thing where that wouldn't work. It was...Annoying, to be sure but it was his duty and he wasn't aiming to let his mother down. He leapt onto the Jaggedrock, a huff escaping him as he settled on his perch. "ShadowClan! Gather beneath the shadow of the Jaggedrock," he called, curling his tail around his paws as he waited for them all to gather, his even gaze focused on the entrance of the nursery for the focus of this ceremony to make her appearance.

Goldenpaw padded curiously out of the apprentices' den. It wasn't her warrior ceremony yet, unfortunately. She was far too young. But perhaps a kit would be receiving their apprentice name? Thinking about it now, she realised that her littermate Hollowkit had been a kit for an awful long time. Maybe her sister would finally join her in the apprentices' den? She sat down by the Jaggedrock, waiting for whoever this was for to arrive.

Hollowkit scrambled to her paws, dashing out into the open. She knew it was her time to become an apprentice, it had been far too long. Although her rather exciting entry, she tried to keep calm and wait for the surprise, its bad to count your prey before you catch it.

As Hollowkit made her appearance from the nursery, Flintshard cleared his throat as he waited for the cats to settle. "I have called you all here so a new apprentice can be named," he explained, before he allowed his gaze to settle on the young she-kit. "Hollowkit, please step forward." He took a moment to pause, spotting his apprentice Goldenpaw in the corner of his eye. Ah, yes...The two were siblings, weren't they? Well, that would perhaps make things...Easier. "Hollowkit, you have reached the age of six moons. From this day forward, until you become a warrior, you shall be known as Hollowpaw. I will be your mentor," he finished, before he pushed himself to his paws and hopped down to meet his new apprentice. He had debated over who to give the young kit to for a while, before he had decided that perhaps he would be the best fit. There were plenty of kits in the nursery, he would have plenty to give out to other warriors. And perhaps getting to train with her sister would ease the...Pain of being named an apprentice so late.
