The Job of A Medicine Cat (OPEN TO ALL!)

The young pale tabby she-cat padded into the den, yellow flowers in her mouth. She gently set down her load of tansy and celandine and efficiently set to work at putting them away. For her first few sunrises, Aspenheart had taught her the names, scents, and looks of commonly used herbs. After she'd perfectly that, they'd moved on to what those herbs were used for. Each morning, when she woke, the young she-cat repeated the uses of the herbs. She did that before she slept, as well. She'd been an apprentice around a moon now, and Aspenheart left her in charge for the first time today. He told her he had important things to do, so she simply didn't question it.

She frowned at the small pile of catmint, they'd definitely need to stock up on that. Aspenheart had warned her not to waste that or chickweed; the best cures for greencough, whitecough, and the deadly blackcough. The chickweed was stocked up well enough, and her tansy she added greatly increased the tansy pile. There was plenty bright-eyes and lovage, and while the cobwes were plentiful, it never hurt to stock up on them. The celandine was lower than she would have liked, but she just hoped no cats decided to get a thorn stuck in their eye.

Mumbling to herself, she began listing herbs she should gather later, once Aspeheart was back. It was never a good idea to leave the medicine den unarmed. "Catmint, Cobwebs, Borage... Could be good to gather daisies and burnet, moonstone journeys could happen any day... Definitely need chervil and dock.. Poppy seed, and lavender, if I find any.."
