Hunting in the cold (closed)

Crouching down as to not disturb the top of the den, Sunflower shuffled himself into the apprentice den. Finding Featherpaw's pelt among the other bundles of sleeping fur, he made his way over to him as carefully as possible. "W-wake up," the lengthy tom whispered softly as he gently prodded the younger tom's side. With that, Sunflower exited the den and gave his short pelt a shake.

Featherpaw

Featherpaw rolled over, blinking himself awake. "Oh! Training!" He exclaimed before jumping up onto his feet. He bounded out the entrance towards Sunflower. "What will we be learning? Hunting? Fighting?" Featherpaw could ask so many questions but he decided to hold most of them in, and he followed Sunflower.

Glad that his apprentice was eager to begin his training, Sunflower's abnormally large ears twitched at the young tom's list of questions. "H-hunting," the meek voiced warrior honked as the pair made their way out of camp and into the lightly wooded forest. "What d-do you kn-know about h-hunting?" he asked, curious if Featherpaw had any prior knowledge on the subject to eliminate some of what he'd have to teach.

Featherpaw

Featherpaw thought of the things he knew, he didn't know much be he did know a few bits of information. "Well, I know that you have to be very quiet and still, and, uhhh… that's all..." He answered, following Sunflower further into the light forest.

"Y-yes, that's r-right," the older tom shivered with a nod. Looking around with his maw open, he hoped to be able to show the apprentice an example. Spotting a leaf a foxlength of two, he decided that this would be a good example, for now at least.

Crouching down as far as his abnormally twig-like legs would allow him to, he crept forward. Waiting a few moments, Sunflower wiggled his haunches back and forth in anticipation. Just a few more moments and he'd be ready...

Pouncing, the tom's big, and somewhat clumsy paws landed onto the leaf. With a swift "mock" bite to the dead piece of plant, he'd successfully caught an unsuscpecting leaf.

Sunflower attempted to catch a leaf and was successful. -3 SP

Featherpaw watched, giggling slightly when his mentor pretending to kill the leaf. "May I have a try on the leaf? Just so I don't startle all the prey away." He questioned, putting a slight hint of sarcarsm in his second sentence. He awaited for the lean toms response, staring at the leaf in anticipation.

"Of-of course," Sunflower replied, stepped back to let Featherpaw take his turn at practicing the basics of hunting. He had no doubt that the younger tom would do just fine in learning to hunt, as most apprentices did.

(I am new to this dice roll thing so lets see if I don't fail at it oof)

Featherpaw smiled, he then crouched behind a bush, stalking the leaf. His tail and paws were quite shaky but he tried to steady them. His eyes enlarged, and Featherpaw pounced at the leaf with excitement. Landing his paws right on the leaf, Featherpaw quickly bit it, popping a few holes in the now destroyed leaf. "Woops, looks like my paws crushed it."

Featherpaw attempted to catch a leaf and was succesful. -3 SP

IC: Watching as the apprentice practiced what he'd exemplified, the young tom's instincts seemed to have taken over, as things usually were with apprentices. Padding up to Featherpaw, he gave him a nod of approval, which was more than any cat could ask for what dealing with Sunflower. "Y-you did f-fine," he mewed in reply to his apprentice's comment about crushing the leaf. "Th-That way the pr-prey wouldn't g-get away," he shivered to his apprentice through chattering teeth. Great StarClan did he hate Leafbare.

Featherpaw’s eyes beamed as he stared at Sunflower, the cold
winds scraping against his fur. “It’s getting q-quite c-cold isn-t i-it,” he muttered trying to breath through the harsh temperatures. “So, w-what are we d-d-doing n-next? Or i-is it t-too cold?”

"L-let's head back," the lean warrior mewed, turning in the direction of the camp. "We c-can hunt m-more later," but for now, he wanted to get back to the comfort and warm that surrounded his clanmates.
