Terrified [Solo]

He couldn't take it anymore. He just couldn't! He needed to get out of that space so he did. Ploverpuddle had taken to sneaking out of the medicine den, out of the camp and into the cold night. The open space, despite the fear and the sense of danger he was feeling, relaxed him instantly. He knew this wasn't smart. He knew that being out here injured and by himself was a major risk, but if he spent one more moment in the cramped den he was going to lose it.

Once he was a decent distance away, the tom came to a halt on the top of a hill. He stared out at the open expanse of the territory, the long grass swaying in the wind that blew through. It was so.. peaceful, but he knew it actually wasn't that way. Predators lurked around every corner. Every tunnel, one of those creatures could emerge.. Honestly he thought about leaving Windclan. Leaving and going back to his loner ways before he had returned. He didn't get into fights to often then. At least none like this.. Nothing with a strange threat around every bend or dip in the moor. Predators... that weren't predators.. He didn't know what to make of them. It was very... Strange... and it terrified him. And with Goldengale and Finchstar missing on top of that? Oh beans.... It wasn't a good situation for Windclan... Or any cat that passed through their territory...

Ploverpuddle sat up on the hill a few tail flicks longer than he wanted. His mind running rampant as he felt he finally had room to breathe, to think. All the thoughts in his head turning to different situations with Windclan, how things would turn out.. Most of them taking a grim turn, like how the creatures would take over the moor chasing the clan from it's home.. or worse.. None of it was helping him. His fear was coursing through his body, screaming at him to turn tail and run as best as he could. Telling him to retreat back to the mountains or to the city he passed through before he returned to Windclan. To return to his old loner life. But something kept him rooted here. Despite all the fear. He assumed it was his loyalty, his promise to his clan. To be there for them in life even if it meant his death.. There was also his loyalty to his family.. Even if he was one of the few left, he still wanted to make Gustpuddle or even Crowstar proud.. He owed them that much, even if he never spent a waking second with Crowstar..

The large gray tom let out a sigh, his mouth coming open to take in a deep breath but as soon as he did a strong scent drifted over his nose. His ears perked up, yellow eyes scanning the night time moor as best as he could. Rabbit.. The other thoughts of the possible terrifying events left his mind. All he could think about was catching that rare rabbit and helping to feed his weak clan.

Standing to his paws, the tom began to follow the scent, a slight limp in his step making it harder on him to move silently but he was going to do it. Ignoring the risk, ignoring the danger the tom moved forward until he spotted the creature munching on something he couldn't quite place. He crept closer and closer awkwardly before finally being close enough. Using the darkness to his advantage the tom sprang forward hoping to catch the creature before he would have to chase it down.

With his leg the way it was as soon as he caught the rabbit in his paws he tumbled to the ground. His claws digging into the creature that tried to fight him the whole way. It didn't move anywhere, and he swiftly killed it as soon as he was able to tell up from down. The gray tom knew that trying to catch more than this was a risk. That him just catching the one was bound to bring the creatures out. As swiftly as he could with his injuries and injured leg he made his way back to camp, returning the same way he left so others wouldn't catch him. He placed the rabbit down in the nursery for the queens and kits to eat before retreating back to the medicine den.
