a new she-kit

"But I'm not a full Medicine Cat, Windpaw." Moonpaw said, watching Emeraldkit's mother walk away. "I can't train her. But I can take care of her, like I promised."

Moonpaw nodded. She padded back into the nursery. "Emeraldkit's mother left." she told Rosekit's mother. "I'm to take care of her, but as you know...well, I don't have milk so...Can you nurse her too?"

Emeraldkit looked up at Moonpaw with wide green eyes.''I hope I get to be your apprentice,Moonpaw.''Emeraldkit mewed.She licked her green tail and then stared at her pelt.''Moonpaw,why must I be different?''Emeraldkit questioned.

Windpaw padded in to hear What emeraldkit said."All cats are different Emeraldkit.but the most different cats become one of the greatest MC's or Warriors."Windpaw said.

''The greatest? Really,Windpaw?''Emeraldkit became wide eyed.

"yes.How do you think my dad started?he was the only orange cat and didnt make friends but a few moons later he was a leader!"Windpaw said looking at emeraldkits big eyes.

''I'll be the best MCA i can be!''Emeraldkit mewed with exitment.

Moonpaw looked at the proud kit. "Maybe you can be my apprentice, but I can't promise you." she said. "But I promised your mother something, Emeraldkit. She wants me to take care of you. And one thing I promise you is that if anyone makes fun of you, I'll rip them to shreds."

''Moonpaw...I have a cousin in Riverclan...Her name is Featherpaw,just to let you know.She knows me already.Do you know her?''Emeraldkit mewed.

Swiftpaw was carrying prey to the fresh-kill pile. When he heard Emeraldkit's story, he ran over. He dropped his prey and mewed "Great Starclan, Moonpaw! You and Emeraldkit are related!Which means through Moonpaw, I'm you're brother!" He looked at Moonpaw

''I'm related to Moonpaw? This is the happiest day of my life!''Emeraldkit mewed.''Is there someway I could meet Featherpaw?''

Moonpaw looked at her uncertainly. "I've got a lot of explaining to do..." she mumbled. "I'm Featherpaw's sister, but my mother left me here when I was a kit, and later left Featherpaw with RiverClan." she told the kit. "Which would make Swiftpaw as a cousin, since he's like family." She sat down and looked at her paws. Then, she looked back at the kit. "I can't-I...Emeraldkit, I can't let you out of camp until you're apprenticed. And I still have one thing left to do before I become a full Medicine Cat, so I don't know if you'll be apprenticed in time. Swiftpaw wanted to be my apprentice for a while, but..."

Swiftpaw laughed "Sorry Moonpaw. Either way, you weren't a full MC anyway when I was apprenticed" He flicked her playfully with his tail

"Yeah, but there are a lot of things different about being a Medicine Cat than a Warrior." she said, looking at Emeraldkit. "You can't have a mate, and won't fight as much."
