Dawngaze's words behind her weren't overly sympathetic, but Dacepaw didn't notice. She was too busy freeing herself from the bush. When she expressed her concern for the warrior, the patched she-cat was somewhat dismissive of her injuries, saying they were shallow and she was fine. Dacepaw felt her stomach twisting with guilt. She hoped Dawngaze wasn't mad at her for ruining their hunt. She did her best to follow Dawngaze as swiftly as she could, her little paws stumbling on the uneven forest floor.
