Leaftwirl found difficulty sleeping the night after Meadowpaw had been appointed to her. The warrior had been nervous at the ceremony, shocked at the fact that she had recieved an apprentice at such a young age. However a night to think in her den proved useful, and she awoke the next day with a sound mind. Perhaps Tinystar was awarding Leaftwirl for her increasing multitudes of services towards SkyClan, but even so, the brown tabby vowed to treat her new pupil well. The pretty cream shecat was more than a symbol or a trophy, and the new warrior wanted to kick herself for even thinking so for a moment. Not even her drive to prove herself to StarClan could skew her views on Meadowpaw, Leaftwirl wouldn't allow it. The new shecat under her watch was a potential friend, a new cat that could be as kind as Ambwrdawn or as jumpy as Sunflower, either way, the new warrior vowed to love her, and it wouldn't hurt if Tigerleaf happened to eye her progress.
"Meadowpaw! Goodmorning sleepyhead, we're gonna have so much fun today!" The nerves from last night had removed their hold on Leaftwirl, and now as she attempted to view the small cat as a friend rather than a project, the whole concept seemed easier. Giving the apprentice a bit of space, Leaftwirl stepped out into camp and let her eyes take note of all the patrols leaving for the morning shift. It was just past dawn, and a bright sun cutting through the black trunks of trees. SkyClan amp was particularly beautiful at this time of day. The new warrior usually never resided in the clearing during this time, having already left for an earlier patrol. This new change of life would be different, and Leaftwirl scolded herself for looking forward to it. Her new mentorship meant later mornings as she would need to wait for Meadowpaw to arise, and the brown tabby couldn't let herself slow down, lest she disappoint StarClan once more.mm
