Marshkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cat's old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" the deputy called out to his clanmates from where he stood on the Jaggedrock, looking out over the camp.

Marshkit had been playing just outside the nursery when the deputy began his announcement. Pausing his game, he looked over in the deputy's direction, curious. He trotted a little closer and stood eagerly, waiting to hear the rest.

"Marshkit step forward," he meowed as he looked around for the kit. Once the tom-kit had stepped forward he continued, "You have reached the age of six moons and it's time for you to be apprenticed. Marshkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Marshpaw. Daisyflame will be your mentor. I know he'll be able to pass down everything he knows to you."

Marshpaw was so excited he hardly knew what to do with himself. He was an apprentice now! He held his head up with pride and did a little hop, thrilled to start his training and begin his journey to being a great warrior.

Hearing his name called, Daisyflame padded up to the young tom and touched noses with his new apprentice. "We'll start training as soon as possible," the older warrior purred with a faint smile.
