His First Adventure. [OPEN TO ANYONE!]

A damp warmth stroking across his back made his eyes snap open, his slumber disrupted by an unscheduled cleaning. Lakekit stretched his paws out in front of him, burning a glare into each foot as he was continuously licked. As soon as it was over, he stood up and shook the dampness away. It definitely went without appreciation.
       The tom, knowing he wouldn't be able to sleep again, looked towards the entrance of the den. He blinked slowly, scanning every mouse-length of area he saw. He drew a few steps away from his mother, as if ensuring he wouldn't be snatched up for another several heartbeats, and then he made his wobbly way to the entry of the den. A sudden brightness made him wince and draw back to rub a paw over his eyes, a distressed mew. Lakekit glanced up again, trying to get used to the new area. When his vision adjusted, he could see just how huge the surrounding environment actually was.
        He had never gone out of his den before. As a new kit, he had mostly slept and fed himself. If not that, he was being cleaned or waddling around and trying to better stable his balance. The camp was one of the biggest things he had ever seen. Lakekit swallowed dryly, ducking his head and making his way away from the entrance. Heat from the light above made him shudder. It felt like he was right back in his nest.
       With a flick of his tail, he looked towards his mother again. She was doing nothing to stop him. Using that as a 'go on' sort of gesture, he turned away and scampered out into the center. His paws rested on something mushy, and it slipped between his pads easily. His spine prickled at the sensation. Lakekit's attention turned downwards, where he began pressing and prodding at the newly discovered element. Mud.

The kit was so mesmerized by his new find that he hadn't realized a cat other than his mother was watching him.
