January Gathering 2019 - Page 5 Empty
PostSubject: Re: January Gathering 2019   January Gathering 2019 - Page 5 EmptySun Feb 03, 2019 4:41 am

Seeing as how all five Clans were now gathered around in the large clearing, time was given to the many cats below the Great Rock to briefly socialize. The air was growing more and more chilly by the minute, and Scorchstar was sure many other cats would want to head home as soon as they could to avoid getting sick or just out of discomfort due to the cold. He didn't notice any other leader stepping forward to initiate the Gathering, so he took it upon himself to do the honors. Padding up to the edge of the rock, he called out for the five Clans to hear, "Now that all five Clans are present, let us begin the Gathering."

He waited until the majority of the cats halted their conversations to look up at him before giving the first report of the night. "ShadowClan is fairing as well as it can through this difficult season. We have been blessed with two new apprentices, Flintpaw and Laurelpaw, and Slatestrike, Burntstag, and Ravenmist have joined the ranks of their fellow warriors. We have also welcomed back Thornpaw, who had been lost from ShadowClan for many moons, and after resuming her training she was granted her own warrior name, Thornbriar. Furthermore, two apprentices, Silentpaw and Mothpaw, have gone missing as well, but they have returned back to us as well."

Then Scorchstar's eyes darkened as he was forced to remember the bad events as well. He wasn't about to give away what had happened to Carrionplace; that would leave wide open many temptations and opportunities for rival Clans to try and take advantage of the situation -- and of them. After the little incident that had happened with Asterspark and Sparrowpaw in SkyClan's territory, he didn't want to put it past Tinystar that he wouldn't try to exact revenge, even if it wouldn't be the sort of thing the small leader would do. He didn't want to take any chances. "For the less unfortunate news, we have lost three warriors. Froststone, ShadowClan's former deputy, has fallen deathly ill, and I am not certain if he will recover before leaf-bare's end, so I have appointed Wildstrike as ShadowClan's new deputy. Frogmarsh has perished in an accident, and... and Poppyheart has gone missing after being attacked right here in Fourtrees. I'm not even certain if he is alive or not at this point, but if any Clan finds him in your territory, please do not attack him. Instead, escort him back to ShadowClan, and we will be in your debt." He knew he was showing much weakness by presenting himself in such a distressed manner, but he missed his dearly beloved son far too much. He was more than willing to trade away his own dignity in exchange for Poppyheart's safety.

With nothing else left to share to the rest of the Clans, Scorchstar dipped his head to the other four leaders, letting them know they were free to share their own reports, and he stepped back into his spot to give them the room to do so.

Asterspark's eyes darkened at the mentions of Frogmarsh and Poppyheart. It was still hard to believe that the two cats he cared deeply about were both gone. Especially his brother. He turned his head to search through the sea of pelts until he spotted Coldgaze again, sitting next to her sister, and he glared murderously at her through the crowd. I won't let you get away with this, Coldgaze.

Flurryshine caught the ShadowClan tom's eye and stared back at him, her fur beginning to rise with discomfort. However, she noticed that he wasn't looking directly at her, but at Coldgaze sitting next to her. She looked over at her littermate and hissed softly, "Why does that tom keep on staring at you? ...You didn't have anything to do with the ShadowClan leader's son disappearing, did you?"

Coldgaze gulped as she saw Asterspark glaring at her through the corner of her eye and then leaned closer to Flurryshine, she couldn't keep what had happend from her sister and whispered quietly to her so only she could hear "It seems like it... I did attack Poppyheart but I didn't kill him or anything, I swear..." she sighed and then continued "And now that idiot says he'll kill you if I deny that I attacked Poppyheart and I'm not gonna let you get dragged into this, I know that I'll be punished, what my punishment will be I'm not quite sure yet but I deserve whatever I'll get...".

She turned her head towards Asterspark and meet his glare with a cold gaze, the best thing she could do was to try to keep calm, not letting Asterspark know how panicked she actually were.

Flurryshine looked Coldgaze straight in the eye in bewilderment. Her own sister threatened to break the alliance between RiverClan and ShadowClan? She instantly remembered what her former Clanmate Pantherkit had done to one of ShadowClan's apprentices here in Fourtrees a few months ago. If this kept up... "Coldgaze... why? Why did you attack a ShadowClan cat on neutral ground? I'm... I'm not angry with you, I'm just surprised. I just never expected you to do something like that." She didn't voice just how terrified she was of the ShadowClan tom now. He was ready and willing to kill her because of what her sister had done. The thought made her feel like she was going to be sick with hollow dread.

Coldgaze looked back at her sister "I were... Err.. Bored..." she sighed and looked down onto her paws. "It was stupid I know and I didn't expect it to turn into something so big...". She felt embarrassed, she had been bored so she had attacked another cat, an ally too... She had acted like an apprentice! She let out a low growl, she had been so stupid!

"If that tom so much as touches you, you tell me okay? Because I'll kill him if he does so." she were glancing at Asterspark as she spoke.

Listening as Scorchstar shared his ShadowClan's news, he was greatful that the inciddent between Asterspark and Sparrowpaw wasn't mentioned, seeing as though in his opinion, it wasn't worth sharing, especially with the other leaders around. Standing up when the dark pelted tom finished, the unusually small leader made his way to the tip of the rock where he looked out upon the gathered cats. "SkyClan is also fairing well. I am pleased to announce that Leafpaw, Cloverpaw, Larkpaw, Foxpaw, and Ashpaw have all gained their apprentice names and although Leafbare, prey is plentiful, which we thank StarClan for. That is all," he finished and returned to his place besides Scorchstar. While part of him wanted to mention the Twoleg item they'd found in SkyClan's territory, he decided against it, seeing as though this wasn't the time to show weakness or worry, especially since it hadn't become a true threat quite yet.

Wrinkling her nose in a confused expression, the tortoiseshell she-cat stared intently at the strange, new cat. "You smell funny. What clan are you from? Who's your mentor? Are you mentored by the deputy too? Are they as big a stick in the mud as mine?" Looking at the other apprentice expectantly, tail twitching with barely restrained curiosity, she continued her flurry of questiongs "Oh, do you guys eat fish in your clan? Are they different from ours? Have you ever gone ice fishing? And what about ice sliding? Will you be my friend? I don't have any friends in other clans yet. Do you like trout?"

Wasppaw's barrage of questions on Batpaw's poor ears was interrupted by a very loud, very big sounding voice, and the inquisitive apprentice's attention was drawn to the small cluster of leaders gathered atop the Great Rock. A huge, black tabby tom had begun to speak, his piercing orange gaze looking out over the crowd with eyes that radiated a sort of kindness. A warmth. Wasppaw didn't know the tom, but she felt like he was probably a nice cat. She wondered what it would be like to talk to him, and how nice he would be. As the leader spoke about missing cats and new warriors, Wasppaw watched with curiosity. He was the leader of Shadowclan? That sounded cool. Then, the big black tabby stepped back from the rock's edge, assumingly to give another leader a chance to speak... only for an apprentice to take his place. Wasppaw looked around as the gathered cats listened to the stubby little cat speak. Scorchclaw said only warriors could be leaders and deputies. Was no one going to say anything about this? As the short little cat finished speaking and began to return to his prior position, Wasppaw spoke up from the crowd loud and clear. "Hey, what's that stubby little apprentice doing up on the Great Rock?!"

From where she was conversing with her ShadowClan acquaintance, telling her about the joys of parenting (particularly how Wasppaw could be difficult at times), Swanpetal's head snapped up at a familiar voice speaking loudly. "And that would be Wasppaw now," she sighed, wanting to sink into the ground. Instead, she stood tall, and raised her voice to be heard by her daughter. "Wasppaw!" she shouted. "Respect!"

Then, like nothing had happened, she turned her head back to Thornbriar. "Before you ask, yes, she is always like this. So, as I was saying..."
~
Batpaw was about to respond before Wasppaw noticed the tiny cat on the Great Rock. From what he'd said, she gathered that he was SkyClan's leader, and that he probably wouldn't appreciate Wasppaw calling him a stubby little apprentice. She watched the Gathering then, genuinely interested now, but made sure to respond to Wasppaw's barrage of questions. "I'm from ThunderClan! And you're the one that smells weird. My mentor's Marshstorm, he's the deputy! He's okay." She paused for a moment to catch her breath. "We don't eat fish. At least, I don't think we do. Is fish good? I've never gone fishing. What's ice sliding?" Another pause. How did Wasppaw just keep going? She'd have to ask later. "Sure! ...What's a trout?"
~
Emberheart looked over to the source of the commotion, finding herself amused at Tinystar's expense. She tried, momentarily, to stifle her laughter, but it was a futile effort. "I feel a little bad for laughing," she admitted to her companion. But not quite bad enough, she supposed, since she hadn't stopped yet. She had to calm down and maintain some level of composure. "Sorry. I'm pretty sure it was the first thought to cross my mind the first time I saw him there, too..."

"Well you were the closest in proximity to me." Flintfang admitted to Emberheart, shifting a little. "That, and I'd rather get this gathering over with as soon as possible." The tom was freezing, the spot he had found to sit, while devoid of any snow, did nothing to warm his pelt. The leaders began the gathering as usual, first Scorchstar, and then Tinystar. A loud shout from across the hollow had Flintfang's ears pricked. A laugh fell from his maw before he fully realized the statement. Stubby little apprentice... Flintfang snorted, whiskers twitching. He noticed Emberheart beside him, also amused. "You're not the only one..." Flintfang chuckled, addressing the fiery warrior. It was nice, not having disdainful glances thrown his way. While he was well used to them, he'd be lying if he said he didn't appreciate their absence.

Leafpaw opened her mouth to respond to the Thunderclan apprentice, when another cat stepped in. "Oh hi!" The brown tabby she-cat mewed, thinking the newer she-cat smelled funny. ShadowClan maybe? Or Riverclan? She frowned as her greeting was shrugged away. The new stranger only seemed to be interested in the Thunderclan apprentice who Leafpaw has learned was called Duskpaw. Not willing to give up, Leafpaw attempted to spark a conversation once more. "What clan are you fro-" The she-cat was cut off as a shout rang out through the trees. What's that stubby little apprentice doing up on the Great Rock?
The apprentice's blood boiled as she found the source of the shout. Taking a step away from Duskpaw, Leafpaw lashed her tail. "How DARE you!" The brown tabby hissed, only half as loud as the Riverclan apprentice's shout. "That's Tinystar! Leader of Skyclan!" If there wasn't a rule of keeping peace at the gathering, Leafpaw would've marched over to teach the cheeky apprentice a lesson. But she had to stay calm, logical. She stomped back over to Duskpaw and the mystery apprentice, angrily sitting down, fuming. Stay calm... She knew Tigerleaf and Condorshade would be disappointed if she acted out. Unlike that fish-eater! Frustrated, Leafpaw stared at the ground and tried to smooth her pelt, now fluffed up from the encounter.

Sootpaw trotted over to Fallowpaw. He had no clue who the others were and had no instrest in conversing with them. So he went to one of the only cats he trusted- Fallowpaw. She had been at his side during the frightful time when he had his first seizure with Mottledspark. He didn’t remember anything from it. However he got all the details from his mother as she fretted over him like all mothers. He looked around for his mentor, Wolfsong. No where to be found I guess. He sighed and dragged a claw boredly across the dirt making a long straight line. And then he froze, his pelt riged with fear.

Swanpaw's head swiveled around as someone yowled about an apprentice being on top the Great Rock, confusion twisting her ears backwards slightly as she searched among the leaders there. "An... apprentice on the Great Rock? I don't... see anyone...." She murmured, half to herself.
There were only the usual leaders there, Leopardstar, her father- Wait, does she think...? Tinystar? She stared in the general direction of where the call had come from, spotting a RiverClan apprentice staring up in outrage at the Great Rock. "But... He's not an apprentice! Doesn't she know that?" Her voice trailed off, having already started at little more than a murmur, it trailed off to something another cat would barely hear.

At the familiar voice of ThunderClan's deputy, Scorchclaw turned slightly. His pale-green gaze glimmered, cold and indifferent. "Well enough." He responded curtly. In truth, he knew what Marshstorm was hinting at. How could he not? It was only natural that the other tom would want to how Hailpaw was doing. Nevertheless, he had no intention of humoring the second-in-command of a clan he hated with all his being. The simmering flames of loathing, having been sparked within him from the day of Adderfeather's injury, had only grown in intensity over the past moons. Self-control and rationality suppressed these emotions for the most part, but they never died away. Directing his line of sight back to the crowd, he allowed a stiff silence to once again fall between the two of them. Before too long, the Gathering officially started, and there was no time left for conversation.

Scorchstar was the first to speak. When the ShadowClan leader stepped back, Tinystar took his place. As usual, Scorchclaw listened expressionlessly to the reports. He seemed almost uninterested, but the careful twitching of his tufted ears gave away the attention with which he was listening. In comparison to ShadowClan, SkyClan had a lot less news to share. There was nothing too strange about this difference. He had more or less expected it. Rather, he was surprised by the emotion Scorchstar had displayed. It seemed ShadowClan had really experienced some misfortune in the past moon. Wildstrike—he was now able to put a name to the unfamiliar ShadowClanner that had taken Froststone's seat at the base of the Great Rock.

"Hey, what's that stubby little apprentice doing up on the Great Rock?!"

All of a sudden, a dreadfully familiar voice rose above the crowd. With a start, Scorchclaw's gaze snapped in the direction from which it had come. Of course. There stood Wasppaw. Now that he had heard her, he found it relatively easy to spot her among the multitude of cats. The wide-eyed tortoiseshell was his apprentice, all right. At once, his gaze grew sharp enough to slice through fur and flesh. Watch. Your. Words. Not a sound left him, but the warning was clearly transmitted across the clearing. Every cat who caught sight of his scowl at that instant probably understood the unspoken message as clearly as if they had heard it. SkyClan might have had a pathetic runt for a leader, but there was such a thing as common sense. If he knew anything about her nature by now, her exclamation probably had not been meant as an insult. Either way, the two of them would need to have a talk as soon as the Gathering ended. Aware of his whereabouts at the very front(?) of the great crowd, he held his tongue for the time being. How would Jaystar respond? Silently, he apologized to his leader for having been unable to properly educate his apprentice.

Scorchclaw doubted he had ever met an apprentice as exasperating, frustrating, and troubling as the one he currently had on his paws.

January Gathering 2019 - Page 5 Empty
PostSubject: Re: January Gathering 2019   January Gathering 2019 - Page 5 EmptyWed Feb 06, 2019 2:37 am

Maybe the silences between them could be considered awkward; it seemed that the both of them were awkward in their own rights, and so the silences likely were awkward, but Amberdawn didn't mind them. She had come to understand some of her own hangups and had quickly learned that others had theirs. The kindest thing she could do for herself and everyone else was be patient and understanding. Amberdawn only told Beartooth the truth. It was lucky that she had found those herbs when he'd found her so she was able to help him and thank him for his understanding by acting. Doing so with words... well, they both struggled, but they had stumbled through an exchanged of apologies. Amberdawn's own personal reward was the smallest hint of a smile on the large tabby tom's face.

At her question, Beartooth sighed and sat heavily. Amberdawn watched sympathetically, listening to him as he spoke softly. He was a sorrowfully obedient warrior; that much she had already learned from her first encounter with him on ThunderClan's territory. The last thing he murmured made the golden tabby she-cat's ears perk up attentively: "StarClan can't watch me from my den." Immediately thoughts of curiosity began to swirl in her mind. Why did Beartooth want to avoid StarClan's sight? There was no admonition, no shock or disdain, in her thoughts. She felt sympathy. The warrior obviously held much shame of some kind, and each thing he spoke - every downshift of his gaze - made her more and more certain that the scar above his eye was not an accident.

Beartooth looked at her and Amberdawn gazed back, ears still perked as she listened to his soft question, "Do you think they still watch over the Clans?" The medicine cat apprentice nodded, not breaking eye contact, and replied, "In short, yes." Then Amberdawn looked away; the most important piece had been said. Beartooth would remember that part, at least. However, she continued, "I've found, though, in my short time of interacting with them, that StarClan is not everything. StarClan can't control everything - even they wish they could. There are things bigger than StarClan. Things fall through the cracks... but they're never overlooked completely." Amberdawn smiled warmly and said, "What falls through the cracks is left for us to decide. While we cannot see the future, we can see ourselves and we can decide what to make of the life we've been given."

Suddenly a voice rang out over the clearing, and Amberdawn looked up to see Scorchstar at the front of the Great Rock addressing the Clans and waiting for silence. The golden tabby she-cat looked back to Beartooth. "I hope to see you again soon, Beartooth," she purred. "I'm grateful to have met you. Oh - I never introduced myself officially. My name is Amberdawn" With that, the SkyClan medicine cat apprentice dipped her head again and then turned to gracefully slip through the crowd towards where the medicine cats gathered. She sat beside Mintwhisker and realized Pricklepaw had joined. She greeted him with a soft mew before settling in and looking up to hear Scorchstar's announcement.

ShadowClan's leader reported some good news and some bad news and asked the Clans to keep an eye out for his son, Poppyheart, who had been attacked in Fourtrees. Amberdawn felt her stomach twist. So much fighting has happened on these sacred grounds, she thought. But Tinystar had already stepped up to make his announcement. Amberdawn listened to her leader thoughtfully, wondering if perhaps he should have mentioned how Mintwhisker had been caught in the Twoleg trap. What if other Clans had struggled with that? I guess we don't want to show weakness, she admitted, and then she thought hopefully, Perhaps if another Clan brought it up we'd tell them what we knew.

Immediately after Tinystar finished, a voice broke out from the crowd. "Hey, what's that stubby little apprentice doing up on the Great Rock?!" Amberdawn gasped, dark amber eyes wide with shock as she spotted the source of the outburst. Surely other Clans teach their apprentices what the other Clans' leaders look like - or at least tell them not to be so loud once the Gathering has started! The medicine cat apprentice looked up at Tinystar with a worried expression, wondering what he would say.

Barleytuft didn't always like the drama at Gatherings. Part of the problem was that if it nearly escalated to a fight, StarClan would call the Gathering to an end and then nothing would happen. However, the disruption at this particular meeting was nothing like others. The sandy warrior was listening attentively to Scorchstar's report, then Tinystar's, when suddenly a young voice piped up from the quiet crowd, "Hey, what's that stubby little apprentice doing up on the Great Rock?!" Barleytuft spotted the apprentice in the crowd and immediately burst out laughing at the cat's misunderstanding. After only a second or two, however, he sucked in a deep breath and went silent, feeling hot with shame under his pelt. He looked apologetically at Graybriar beside him and hoped that the commotion from all the other cats had been enough for him to escape admonishment.

With Flurryshine seated right beside him and Coldgaze speaking so urgently, it was difficult for Lightstep to not listen in on their conversation. The white tom felt a bit awkward, but it would certainly be worse if he got up and walked away. Instead, Lightstep kept his pale amber gaze focused ahead of him, looking at the crowd or the movement of the leaders up on the Great Rock, each shuffling about to make room for the others as they arrived. The Gathering began and Scorchstar of ShadowClan began to speak. Despite this, Lightstep couldn't help but pick up bits and snippets at the she-cats beside him spoke. Flurryshine hissed something indiscernible. Coldgaze leaned closer, looking guilty, and whispered something back. Lightstep couldn't help but see the same ShadowClan tom from earlier, and suddenly he heard Flurryshine ask urgently, ""Coldgaze... why? Why did you attack a ShadowClan cat on neutral ground?"

The white tom's shoulder threatened to bristle but he kept his fur flat. Lightstep wondered if he should report it to his grandfather when they returned home, but loyalty to Flurryshine told him to say nothing. He didn't have the full story, and Flurryshine likely didn't either. He recalled how Jaystar and Scorchstar had spoken quietly before the Gathering and wondered if, perhaps, that was what they were whispering about. Lightstep was distracted as he heard Coldgaze growl, "If that tom so much as touches you, you tell me okay? Because I'll kill him if he does so." Lightstep leaned over to Flurryshine and murmured, "Nothing will happen to you. Your family will protect you."

He was still processing this information when he realized that Tinystar had finished speaking, and an apprentice spoke up from the crowd. Lightstep turned his gaze, wide with shock and annoyance at such disrespect, to the offending apprentice... only to see his own Clan's Wasppaw. His annoyance became only exasperation; she certainly hadn't meant anything offensive, but of all the things to shout in the middle of a Gathering!

... and Lightstep wasn't the only one to take notice of her. He became aware of Scorchclaw's flaming gaze fixed on Wasppaw. Lightstep had always been a good, obedient warrior and hadn't required much scolding from the deputy, but he feared the tom's temper and knew the look of complete fury on his face. Oh, Wasppaw, StarClan protect you when we get back to camp, he thought, and aloud Lightstep groaned and mumbled to Flurryshine, "This certainly is a different kind of Gathering, isn't it?"

Foxpaw has chatted noisily with the other apprentices until he heard Wasppaws shout. “What’s the stubby little apprentice?!” He snarled. “That Tinystar!” He slashes his teeth inches away from her face. “And how dare you disrespect the leader of Skyclan AND my mentor!” He snarled. His pelt pickled in disgust while his eyes shown of a savage anger. “How dare you disrespect TimySTAR like that! If this wasn’t a gathering I would of clawed our throat already!” He advanced on her, his nose inches away from hers. “Does Riverclan not teach their apprentices any respect?” He shouted so that Jaystar could hear. “How common sense you piece of road kill!” He growled. His pelt was fluffed twice the size of it normally should of been and his tail lashed. “If you think Tinystar is tiny- your right! But he’d lead a clan better than you and if Riverclan was under your power I’d fail into a heap of shameful misery!” He glared at her.

Marshstorm sat calmly at the base of tall rock. His head tilted in acceptance of Scorchclaw's answer, though he longed to push further, he restrained himself. His amber gaze flickered out to look for his apprentices in the throng of gathered cats. The announcements of the leader starting the gathering enough to prompt him to pay attention. He looked curiously at the new tom who sat with them and offered the tabby tom a smile and nod of greeting.

"Welcome, Wildstrike." He meowed quietly as the leaders shuffled above them. His attention falling back to the leaders once again until a young voice cut through the usual affairs like a claw through a leaf. Marshstorm's gaze turned quickly to the young apprentice... 'Wasppaw' from what a few outraged cats were calling her. As Marshstorm blinked in surprise, a small cough dragged from his throat as he suppressed the urge to laugh. It would be rude to do so... and it reminded him so painfully of Ridgepaw that he gave Scorchclaw a sympathetic look.

"I see StarClan has gifted you a ... rambunctious one as well. Let us hope Ridgepaw and Wasppaw never meet." The moment he said it, he couldn't help but shudder. One curious apprentice was bad enough... but two? The thought was downright terrifying.

Wasppaw blinked in confusion at the various stares, chuckles, and gasps.

".... What? What'd I say?"

Her mother's shout confused her even more. Had she said something wrong? She wasn't being disrespectful... was she? She just wanted to know!

Just then, a tabby apprentice that was clearly older that stalked towards her, yelling at her something about insulting their leader. She blinked at the she-cat in complete confusion. Apprentices could be leaders? Scorchclaw never told her that! She grinned as the she-cat walked away from her. That was so cool! She'd had no idea! Turning her big blue eyes to her mentor excitedly, she saw his face and faltered slightly. Why did he look so angry? Did he not want her to find out? Was it supposed to be a secret from her or something...? Her face shifted into a pout. She hated secrets! Why did everyone always have to hide things from her?! She turned away from her mentor.

Then, a new apprentice approached her, also clearly older than her. She blinked at him as he shouted in her face, before lashing out at her. Eyes wide with fear, she took a few steps back and flattened her ears. "W... Why are you yelling at me? I didn't know apprentices could be leaders... n-no one told me!" Tears gathered in the recently named apprentice's eyes and she shrunk down as he followed her, getting into her face and continuing to yell. Panicked, she batted his nose away like a kit and bolted off through the crowd, stumbling over her own paws and tripping over the tails of other cats as she made her way to Scorchclaw's side. As soon as she reached her mentor, she wiggled behind his forepaws to quite literally hide underneath him.

She didn't like gatherings anymore.

Silentpaw's eyes widened as the tiny tortoiseshell apprentice blurted out a question that... was surprisingly valid. Looking up at the Great Rock, she understood the kit's confusion. The leader perched above them was practically half the size of Scorchstar himself. That being said...

She was just about to try and correct the young apprentice when a different apprentice stalked up to them, chastising the tortie before huffily walking away. Well then... The white she-cat couldn't help but feel that the Skyclanner had been a little hard on her. The Riverclanner... Wasppaw apparently, couldn't have been much older than a kit. Silentpaw was surprised she was even allowed to come to the gathering, considering she and her sister hadn't been allowed to go to the gathering that had taken place not long after they'd gained their warrior names. She supposed this was why.

Her thoughts were interrupted by another, much angrier apprentice screaming clear across the clearing. Silentpaw watched, wide-eyed as the apprentice stormed over and snapped at Wasppaw. The apprentice, another Skyclanner, verbally tore into the little she-kit with such animosity that Wasppaw actually ran away from him. Furrowing her brow, the normally meek she-cat stepped forward, in front of Foxpaw as Wasppaw ran. In an act so far out of character it surprised even her, the Shadowclan apprentice stood in front of the Skyclanner firmly. "She... she's just a kit..." She mewed quietly, levelling an unwavering stare on the tom. "... Leave her be."
