Raggedkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Another one of Finchstream's litter was ready to leave the ceremony. Oh, how time flew. The ranks of RiverClan's apprentices would swell yet again. The kit that Scorchclaw had in mind today was Raggedkit. Easily ascending unto the Willow Branch, the RiverClan deputy cried out the familiar summons. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Willow Branch for a clan meeting!"

The messy pelt of Raggedkit could be spotted among the assembling cats. His narrow eyes portrayed no emotion. He was slightly tired but wanted to know what this meeting was about so he dragged himself from his nest and sat down near the front of the group. He looked up at Scorchclaw with a brow lifted. He was expecting some thrilling news.

It seemed that Raggedkit had no idea what the meeting was being called for. From his perch up high, Scorchclaw easily made out the particular tom-kit at the front of the crowd. His pelt was ruffled and disorderly, revealing that he probably had not put much effort into preparing it. Needless to say, the fluffy deputy had seen kits far more excited than Raggedkit on the day of their apprentice ceremony. Well, said tom-kit would soon find out the purpose of the clan assembling. When he saw fit to begin, Scorchclaw did. "Raggedkit, step forward." A brief pause was all that was needed, for the young tom was already rather close to the willow tree. "You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day onward until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Raggedpaw, and your mentor will be Coldgaze. I wish the two of you all the best."

The ceremony drawing to a close, he leaped off the Willow Branch.

Coldgaze stepped forward and walked up to Raggedpaw, she looked at him with a slight grin "Hey kid, it will be fun to train you" she meowed. She bowed her head down and touched noses with him.

"Training begins tomorrow morning" she then told him with a smile before she turned around and walked away, into the warriors den. Her first apprentice! She let out a purr, she were so excited, this would be so fun!
