Due to her vastly perceptive senses, this task should be as effortless as swallowing a minnow.

And she knew herbs. A few vapid sunrises spent convalascing in the medicine den, sprawled upon the resilient moss was all she required to maintain an adequate knowledge of remedies. Observance and apprehension of the expansive amount of restoratives would undeniably be of substantial assistance during this competition. One thing that was certain, was that it was absolutely imperative that she won.
She had to win.

It was manifest on what herb she would target. The wispy mauve, the miraculous blooms that aroused the silver lining to Leafbare's clouds. Acute temper of the season would morph Leaf-fall's overcasting haze of clouds into a perpetual storm. Its lighting had already struck Streampaw, inflicting the harshness of Greencough onto him. His health had been restored, thank StarClan, but Featherpaw would be well in Silverpelt before she'd ever allow it to strike him again. However much she had 'changed', one tom still managed to mantain its place in her heart.

Her delicate paws directed her towards the Twolegplace, of which she sighted several others, whose similar goals were quite discernible. Hissing muffled curses, she slunk out of their view, steps muted. Her actions were circumspect as she sidled over another withering, sallow fence with a rather chalky texture. In a hushed manner, she instantly percepted the thrilling scent of catmint, and hastened by to collect it. After obtaining a lavish quantity of stalks of periwinkle purple, Featherpaw slithered into the shadows before any foes could spy her accumulating their storage of catmint.
The immediate vicinity was abundant in brash foliage boldly refusing to remain orderly. Clusters of leaves intertwined to create a mass of bristly stems. The twoleg that resided in this den was blatantly disregarding their duty to maintain an uncluttered garden, unlike its neighbouring Twolegs. She abruptly realized that it was rather unwise and unnecessary to continue observing. Without further ado, the apprentice gracefully glided over the fence to resume her already fortunate foraging quest.

Fallowpaw looked around at all of her Clanmates surrounding her, clear blue gaze meeting those of her friends and family. The fact that this would be her first time leaving camp since Shade’s attack was knowledge that only herself, Jaystar, Scorchclaw, and Silverfang shared, and perhaps Goldeneye. Fallowpaw was reluctant to reveal her fears, how she was afraid to venture outside the camp’s protective walls. She was fairly sure that Goldeneye knew, as she hadn’t been out to find herbs and their lack of the necessary roots, leaves, and flowers was beginning to show. Thankfully, it seemed as if Jaystar and Scorchclaw hadn’t quite caught on yet.

The apprentices and warriors around her baffled her with their eagerness to get out of camp and begin their search, even with the threat of Shade gone. They could be walking straight into another dangerous situation, but she supposed that they weren’t quite thinking in that way. She tried to allow their enthusiasm to motivate her, get her going. Ignoring the pessimistic voices in her head, she walked slowly out of camp, waiting for everyone else to leave before she departed. The small medicine cat apprentice knew exactly where to look for everything, and what was most valued. She almost felt bad for her competitors. Maybe she’d hand off her findings to an unlucky apprentice. Heading directly towards the Twolegplace, her smile widened when she spotted her top priority immediately: Catmint, and an abundance of it.

Before leaping over the chainlink fence that separated her from the precious herb, she glanced around at her surroundings. There were no cats in her vicinity- rogue, kittypet, or Clanmates. Maybe none of them thought to check the Twoleg Gardens, she mused. Her time spent in camp had likely allowed the Catmint to replenish, rather than constantly being taken back to camp. From the corner of her eye, a flash of yellow stood out. Finishing off the Catmint, she set it to the side as she looked down at the Tansy in front of her. Baffled, she gently bit the stem, careful not to get too close to the flower. The medicine cat apprentice gathered them between her teeth delicately as she crossed back over the fence.

When she finally returned to camp with her mouthful, her gaze caught on that of Snowblossom’s. She was being comforted by Gingerstripe, for she’d come back empty-pawed. Forget handing off some of her herbs to an apprentice- Snowblossom could use a paw. Dropping the herbs in front of her own paws, the she-cat grinned as she looked up at the Warrior. Checking to make sure that neither Jaystar or Scorchclaw were watching, she pushed the Tansy to Snowblossom. ”This makes it a little fairer, anyway.” She winked at her Clanmate, before padding off in the direction of her Leader and Deputy. ”I got a good amount of Catmint while I was out.” She reported, not mentioning the Tansy. She’d make sure it was counted in Snowblossom’s favor.

Sunset arrived sooner tan he expecetd and son warriors and apprentices returned with the result of their search. Some came back with nothing but other were able to find a good bunch of herbs, which it was quite impressive considering how snow was starting to cover the land. He gave Berrycloud a gentle touch in his forehead as a sign he wasn't mad or dissapointed of him. How could he be dissapointed of his clanmates when he knew they did their best to help the clan and the medicine cats? Jaystar stood up in the top of a rock as he calle the attention of his clan. "My friends, I can only thank all of you for your hard work of today! No matter who wins or lose, you all have contribute to the medicine cat's den storage and now we will have more herbs for leaf-bare!" He mewed loudly and sincere.

His green eyes then looked over to three cats who had brought the rarest and most precious herbs for this season. He smiled at them as he nodded, respectfully. "I would like to aknowledge Hailsong, Lightstep and Featherpaw's perfomance today however, there can only be one winner. Congratulations Fallowpaw... Goldeneye has trained you well." It was clear in his voice how proud he was of the she-cat, who had grown to become almost as a daughter to him. "Let's head back home now. You all deserve a good night of rest." He dismissed the meeting and then leapt off just to walk to the medicine cat apprentice. With purr, the tom nuzzled her forehead. "I'm really proud of you, Fallowpaw."
