Eaglekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Mistyrain mounted the Tallbranch, ready to initiate yet another apprentice ceremony. After the loss surrounding Lichenmask and the exiles, she was thankful that the Clan was growing again. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!" she called, scanning the approaching cats for the kit who would receive his apprentice name today.

Eaglekit bounded over, curious. He wondered which lucky kit would become an apprentice today! After all, Mistyrain was at the rock. He then remembered he had become six moons old recently, and straightened in anticipation.

Her eyes locked on the kit, Mistyrain continued the ceremony. "Eaglekit, please step forward." The she-cat waited a few moments for the kit to do so. "You have reached the age of 6 moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Eaglepaw. Tinystar will be your mentor. I am confident that he will guide you well on your journey to becoming a warrior." The small deputy leaped down from the branch, raising her voice to congratulate the new apprentice along with her Clan.

Eaglepaw's eyes widened. Tinystar? He was going to be mentored by the leader himself! With a hop of joy into the air, before remembering he was supposed to look dignified, he internally cheered. "Thank you, Mistyrain! Thanks a bunch!"

Having been watching the ceremony from the edge of the crowd, Tinystar padded over to Eaglepaw, his new apprentice and touched noses with the younger cat. "We'll start training next sunrise," the little tom mewed with a soft smile.
