IC: Swiftstep was currently burying a rabbit he caught not too long ago. He had decided to take an apprentice named Icepaw out hunting. It was a small hunting "patrol" consisting of just the two of them. After the tom hid his catch, he went to go try and find another.

So much had changed since the tom last remembered. Despite his age, he was still an apprentice. All that was left of his training was his Moonstone trip, and a few more hunting patrols. Today, he would mark off one of those patrols.

He followed behind the deputy, mimicking the actions and pouncing towards a rabbit in an attempt to catch it off guard.

It wasn't much of a surprise when the animal's neck cracked under the strength of his jaw. Swiftly burying the prey, he continued to follow Swiftstep further into the territory.

The brown tom smiled at the apprentice's quick catch and continued to search for another creature to take back as fresh kill. After moments of looking around, the deputy spotted an occupied hare sniffing about. The quick male dropped down into the hunting crouch and after a few silent minutes, he pounced. Swiftstep caught it and ran back to his other catch to hide it alongside that one. He then continued his prey search one last time.

Amongst the tall grass was a small robin, pecking away at the hard, cold ground. He wasn't quite use to birds, but as he prayed to StarClan, he pounced forward, claws outstretched.

The bird nearly escaped but he managed to clip its wings with his claws, downing it and preventing it from flying off. Taking the chance he jumped forward and cracked the bird's neck. With a nod, he turned to the deputy with a mouth full of feathers.

The deputy was now face to face with a medium sized lizard. These scaly critters were a rare animal to be found in Windclan. Swiftstep felt that he had to at least attempt to catch it. The tom-cat went into the hunter's crouch and soon started stalking it. Once he was at a decent distance from it, he leaped, paws outstretched. Unsheathed paws encased the lizard, effectively cutting any way it could escape. The brown cat killed it and then picked it up by it's tail. He nodded at Icepaw and gathered his other hidden catches. Afterwards, he led the tom back to camp after a successful hunting session.
