August's Gathering 2018

The full moon appeared between the clouds, shining over the silent clearing that was quietly waiting for the cats to arrive. The only sound that could be heard was the one that came from the soft movement of the oak leaves and some lonely cricket that was jumping away. The hot breeze announced the arrivals of the clans and with them, the tension that started to lurk at the sight of a new danger...

The Riverclan leader was the first to arrive. He was tense, stressed yet he looked strong, even emotionless. He made his way to the Great Rock without any word coming out of his mouth and climbed it leaping at first. Thanks to his size, it wasn't a difficult task and the tom could easily sit in his usual spot. From, there, he watched at his clan took place. Jaystar didn't want to be here... not after what happened with Lichenmask. If Shade was a trouble, he was only the start. Starclan had to punish him for what he had done... that was the only explanation that could come to his mind after all the messes that had happened.

He closed his eyes, meditating. For now, he had to focus on the Gathering and say what he had to say. Probably, he would have to request a meeting with Littlestar about Gingerstripe... but only between them. It was an issue between their alliance, the other clans shouldn't be involved.

Spotfur, saddened by his mate's disappearance, hobbled into fourtrees and picked himself a spot. It was hot and he was tired but he'd never miss a gathering.

Cinderfall trotted in, swishing his crooked tail. He felt an odd sort of optimism, gatherings were nearly always an occasion to look forward to.

Flamepaw nervously crept in with Riverclan. Fourtrees... she hadn't been here for moons upon moons. A sight for sore eyes. The towering oaks and Great Rock seemed almost spotlighted in the moon's shine. Might she see her dear siblings again? Sharptooth even? A small part of her was giddy to see,  but the rest was afraid... afraid that they wouldn't be happy to see her or something.

Littlepaw followed her father into the clearing quietly her silver tail flicking quietly as she looked around quietly before settling down quietly by herself.

Thawpaw wasn't too far behind. The newly made apprentice was rather excited to be at her first gathering.

Scorchclaw followed his clan into Fourtrees, noting silently that RiverClan was once again the first clan to arrive. Were they just early, or were the other clans just late? Well, he guessed it didn't really matter. For now, they had the clearing all to themselves. Jaystar was already heading to the Great Rock, but Scorchclaw lingered for a moment longer. Approaching Aspenpaw, he lightly flicked the younger tom's shoulder with his tail. "I know this is your first time at a gathering, but don't get too excited. Remember that the other clans are ultimately our enemies. Even ShadowClan, who is supposedly our ally, might turn against us one day. Feel free to mingle with the other clan cats, but don't give out too much information." He spoke firmly, but soft enough that only Aspenpaw could hear him. As the deputy, he sat apart from the other cats, so he would not be with his apprentice for his first time at a gathering. The apprentice had his clanmates and family, however, so there wasn't much to worry about. His warning given, he left after Jaystar.

Despite the fact that night had fallen, it was still too hot for comfort. It was at times like these that Scorchclaw's long fur proved to be a disadvantage. The fluffy deputy grimaced slightly as he sat down in the shade of the Great Rock. As he waited for the other clan's arrival, he slipped on an expressionless mask. The gathering hadn't even begun, and he was already sensing another stressful night. In the past few days, he had had the feeling that something was bothering Jaystar, but he didn't know what it was. If he wasn't told, he would not ask. It was quite possible that the tall leader was simply stressed out over managing the clan.

Reedclaw moved into Fourtrees behind Jaystar and Scorchclaw.

Swallowpaw stayed a few fox lengths away from her father. She was beginning to see what most other in the clan thought of him and her heart ached, but there was nothing she could do about it. The fluffy she-cat took in the sight of the Fourtrees. It was her first gathering and she was excited. The gathering place seemed quiet for now, but she knew that the other four clans would be joining RiverClan soon.

Aspenpaw padded close to his mentor, nodding at his words about the other clans. He preferred to be with his clan anyway. As he watched his mentor and grandfather pad over to the rocks, he padded over to a spot so he could see the leaders. It appeared that it was only Riverclan so far. It was nice to be able to choose a spot. He stayed away from his father. He wasn't happy with his attitude towards Gingerstripe.

Nettlepaw padded near his sibling, Thawpaw. This was his first gathering, and he was super excited about it! He could see all of the leaders and the deputies and he could wonder what it was like to be one! His fluffy tail wagged and he pushed through to the front of the clan so he could see easily. No other clans had arrived yet, so he was left to wonder what the other clan's looked like.

(When Shadowclan arrives this will be in effect)
Frostpaw padded into the clearing away from most other cats. He was excited about his first gathering but didn't really want to talk to anyone. He just padded to an open spot where he could see the leaders. So he was pretty pleased about that. He wondered if Tigerpaw was coming, he hadn't seen her but he hoped she was there.

Slowly, Fallowpaw padded into her first Gathering, directly behind Jaystar and Scorchclaw. Her usual smile hadn't faded on the outside, but her general mood and posture were impacted by the disappearance of her mentor. The gleam that was generally projected from her bright blue eyes just wasn't there, and the only cat that would be able to tell something was wrong was Goldeneye herself. There was a chance that Jaysta would be able to as well, but with so many cats in RiverClan and so many duties to attend to, she doubted the tom would have time enough to sit down and talk. So, she continued on to where the Medicine Cats and their apprentices sat and took her seat. She nodded, and murmured a small greeting. "Hello."

Flurryshine padded after her leader, deputy, and the rest of her Clanmates. She was very excited to be attending her very first Gathering as a warrior, but at the same time she was still quite sad that Dewshine couldn't come along with her. She was really going to miss sitting by her side and keeping warm beside her on the chillier nights. Nevertheless, she kept her head up and her bushy white tail high in the air as she walked.

Stormstrike padded close behind Scorchclaw, avoiding his father and siblings, as well as Cinderfall. Any cat who had been foolish enough to support Gingerstripe, really. The fact that they were letting a cold-blooded killer sleep in their dens and eat from their fresh-kill made the stormy gray tom sick to his stomach. With a flick of his great feathery tail, the large tom gracefully slid towards the front of the crowd, noting that Riverclan were the first to arrive. He bit back a scoff of contempt, turning his gaze to the Great Rock where Jaystar was perched.
Did he even deserve to sit there? The thought came unbidden into his mind. New and frightening, the large Riverclanner felt like a turncoat for just thinking it. It was true that Jaystar had made some... questionable decisions. That, paired with the disappearance of Goldeneye and his hesitance to press Thunderclan for more territory, made his father seem weak. If he wasn't careful, he'd be the undoing of Riverclan, and everything Ivystar had worked for.
His grandmother... if she were here, what would her opinion be on his thoughts? Surely she'd understand.
Right?

Meadowpaw walked into fourtrees. Even though she had been here before, the size of the four massive trees still wowed her. She sat down next to her sister, Flurryshine, and waited for more cats to arrive.

Littlepaw flicked her tail quietly her gaze moved to her flatmates as they came in but her gaze moved briefly to Stormstrike her eldest brother before her gaze flicked over to Cinderfall her other brother and decided to get to her paws and pad over to him for a moment not sure about sitting by herself and she was sure no one would sit next to her anyways."Hey mind if I join you Cinderfall? I don't really want to sit by myself."Littlepaw mewed looking to Cinderfall figuring asking Stormstrike would get her a tongue lashing from the older tom.

Thawpaw blinked flicking her tail before looking to her sibling Nettlepaw with a small grin"Hey Nettlepaw. It's kinda cool being here huh...at our first gathering."She mewed.

Cinderfall nodded. "Sure! I'm always up for sitting by you, sis." He piped. At least Littlepaw liked him, unlike Stormstrike. Sadly.

Weaselpaw filed silently into the clearing, a little unsure after the events of the last gathering. Were gatherings always like that? The pale ginger she-cat glanced around nervously. The clearing was quite empty without the other clans, and it filled her with a sense of pride that her clan was first.
