First Thing First [CLOSED]

As she said the day before, Silverfang was waiting with an impatient flicking tail for the apprentice to leave his den and start their training. The sun was about to appear and the scarred warrior wanted to start early. There was so much to do. As the fiery warrior she was, she was going to be a strict and harsh mentor for Lichenpaw. If he wanted to be the best, he would have to survive her training and lessons first. If he couldn't that, then he was not worthy to be a warrior.

In front of her paws, she had a small mouse. It was not enough to feel a complete empty belly but enough to give him the energy to work through all the morning. With so many mouths to feed lately, apprentices and warriors couldn't have the luxury of eating whatever they wished. Larger prey had to be given to elders, queens and kits first. The rest was for the stronger members of the clan, like her and Lichenpaw. He had lost the privileges of a kit. Now he would have to endure the hardships of an apprentice.

Downy remnants of a hastily pulled together nest stubbornly clung to Lichenpaw's disheveled fur, unrelenting even against the force of wriggling free from the low-hanging fronds that comprised the entrance to the Apprentice's den. The watery streaks of pale pinks, vibrant oranges, and faint blues proved he was up a little bit later than intended, but considering he didn't wake up to a seething Silverfang standing above him, it clearly didn't matter too much. How would it even be possible to sleep in with such an exciting morning ahead?

Refusing to waste the few precious heartbeats he still had, the young tabby opted to instead give himself a brisk shake as he scuttled forth to meet the scarred she-cat. "Hi Silverfang!" Despite the fact that Lichenpaw's throat was still raspy from the time he had spent awake from the waking world, it did little to stifle his cheerful tone, "What are we doing today?"
