Goldeneye finished removing all of the old, damaged herbs and tossed them to the corner of her den, her new and fresh herbs sitting happily in her storage. With her duties done for the day, the young medicine cat curled in her lone nest, her thoughts dwelling a bit on her apprentice which caused her to lift her head and look around her den which was descending into a cluttered mess. Pressing her lips together she shut her eyes tight and put her head back down, tucking her nose under her paws and willing herself to sleep until the sweet release of darkness would welcome her.

But tonight, it would not be so. Goldeneye 'awoke' to the star-lit river and reed-beds of Starclan, her pelt bristling with caution at this unusual summons. Her brows furrowed as she took in, waiting for her warrior ancestors, her heart pounding. Was she going to get a prophecy? The first prophecy that she did not gain from the moonstone? Exhilaration filled her chest despite the seriousness of the situation, her blood thrumming in her ears as her pelt prickled with excitement.

Sweeping up behind Goldeneye, a pale starry outline wavered with each stride taken forward.

White fur practically translucent with immense age, the lush foliage and undergrowth of the afterlife was blatantly visible through the ghostly being. A faintly visible trail of an unearthly mist followed suit after the white StarClanner, shimmering and glowing with the dazzling light of the stars, which rose and fell with each graceful movement. The forest, once chattering with the enticing sounds of many different creatures, fell into a strange silence as the distance between the two cats gradually lessened. No longer was the late Greenleaf air of StarClan's realm filled with the alluringly sweet scents of life, only the harsh taste of frost and ancient stone.

"Goldeneye," The command was but a mere whisper, yet it rang through the air with a surprising amount of clarity and strength, "Turn to face me. We have much to discuss and very little time." There was a sense of urgency glinting within the pale depths of the ghostly cat's gaze, hardly discernible among the partially visible features. Warily gazing about at the deceptively welcoming territory that unfolded around them, the starry cat briefly wondered if unfriendly ears and eyes were observing such a secretive meeting. Despite the fact that they had just encountered each other, it was obvious that their time was already fleeting.

Goldeneye flinched at the voice, but did as she was told, the air around the medicine cat making her pelt prickle with apprehension. "Then we mustn't waste time on pleasantries, what is it you wish to tell me?" Goldeneye stepped towards the striking white she-cat, her ears pricked towards her. Sensing the white she-cats wariness this too put the young medicine cat on edge, her nose twitching and her ears swiveling. The sudden direness of the situation she was in had her quiet, her head spinning with questions. She had to get this done quickly, what if she had questions that she needed answering? There was simply not enough time while dreaming!

Sensing the sudden spark of apprehension within the young Medicine Cat, the long forgotten ghost pushed away any stubbornly lingering urges to soften her presence or offer a brief moment of comfort. There was so much to say and so little time, they couldn't afford to waste any more. For the briefest moment, while gazing at Goldeneye, there was the faintest flicker of fright evident in their spectral gaze. It was StarClan's meddling that had given birth to such a dire situation among the living in the first place, would saying any more truly help? Swallowing down the slight tremor of remorse that tightened their form, the pale StarClanner leaned forward to gently brush their muzzle against the golden she-cat's forehead.

"There will be one among you, one who holds the power of the stars." They mewed softly, exhaling a cool breath that sparked the fire of a terrible vision. Suddenly, Goldeneye was no longer standing within the ethereal realm of StarClan, but within the familiar patch of sacred ground that was Fourtrees. However, instead of being bathed within the comforting light of the brilliant moon, the neutral land was heavily drenched in strange red shadows; shadows that hungrily stretched forth to devour all that laid within their path. Shrill cries of agony and rage filled the air like a twisted birdsong, the shadows morphing into countless battling cats. Where one fell, two more seemed to arise from the foul darkness, giving life to an endless cycle of bloodshed. "But this power is corrupted by a darkness from our own hearts." There was a somber note of something akin to guilt in the white cat's voice, resonating sharply among the shrieking battle cries that flooded the air. Just barely visible among the plethora of tumbling and writhing shadows, the somewhat discernible outline of a cat was seated among the faux battle- clearly untouched by the strange conflict that unfolded around it. A pair of vaguely familiar amber eyes blinked back at Goldeneye and the nameless StarClanner, almost as though it could clearly see the pair.

"Beware the dawn of the midnight sun, for it will bring about the destruction of all we know. The darkness that it shall birth will turn kin against kin, Clanmate against Clanmate, and none shall be safe." The white StarClan cat's form was rapidly bleeding away into nothing, leaving Goldeneye alone among the vision of despair and destruction, yet their voice still remained clearly detectable. "Look right before you and you shall see what you must."

Almost as soon as the Starclan cat pressed her nose to her forehead the she-cat whisked away from Starclans hunting grounds and into Four-trees, her eyes widening as fear slammed into her just as the sound of battling cats and the stench of blood reached her. Goldeneye's tail tucked and her claws unsheathed as she looked around Four-trees until her eyes landed on a tom that sat in the clearing, not reacting to the carnage around him. Piercing eyes looked back at the two she-cats, familiarity making the medicine cat all the more scared. What was she to do? The star-clanners words were ringing in her head as it all melted away, and for the first time in her life Goldeneye was uncertain of her skill.

She was picked by Starclan to be what she was, now they relied on her to fix this, to prevent this if she could. Goldeneye jolted awake the dawn bleeding her den red, and the fear she left in her dreams returned. She had to think long and hard about the best course of action, but how was she supposed to guard their hearts against darkness? The most she could do was to find the cat she was warned about, which she happened to already have suspicions on who it was. Goldeneye needed to make sure that the kin was at peace, not just in Riverclan but the rest of the clans.

Goldeneye got to her paws and started walking towards the den entrance before stopping abruptly, her old mentor coming to mind. Should she tell him? He was an elder now, sure but he was her mentor, all the same, he didn't hold the same connections she currently did. So that cut him off from their ancestors, she was on her own. Pushing her way out of her den she looked at the sun, dread filling her head and heart. She had to warn Jaystar, and request an audience with the other clan leaders and medicine cats, this was too important to wait for a half-moon or a gathering surely? Goldeneye's vision flashed before her once more, her throat tightening as she gagged at the horrific scene. Yes.

If she waited and did nothing it would be her ruin, she had to do this. They must prepare for war, for if she couldn't turn the tides it could very well mean they'd rip each other to shreds. Like the stories she heard of the Dark Forest.
