Sparrowkit's and Ospreykit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!" Scorchfang meowed loudly from atop Jaggedrock, standing proud and tall. His youngest son and daughter, the two kits who look so much alike, were about to be made apprentices, and he couldn't be happier for the two of them.

Sparrowkit ran out of the nursery with a grin plastered on her pretty face. She turned to face her twin brother as she sat down. She beat Ospreykit by a few seconds in their little race to sit down first.

Ospreykit whined and sat down next to his sister with a pout. He didn't like losing to her. They both looked up at their father and waited for him to continue.

"Sparrowkit, Ospreykit, step forward," he meowed to his son and daughter, and once the two kits did as they were told he continued. "You two have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Sparrowkit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Sparrowpaw. Wolfheart will be your mentor. Ospreykit, from this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Ospreypaw. Ryeheart will be your mentor. I know these two cats will be able to pass down what they have learned to you."

Large ears pricking, Wolfheart's gaze settled upon the newly-named Sparrowpaw. Another apprentice? Even though his previous one had yet to finish her training? A flicker of anxiety simmered deep within his gut, but it was much less prevalent than he had originally anticipated. Rising to his paws, the rosetted tom slowly made his way to the young she-cat, before leaning forward to gently touch noses. "I look forward to training you."

Ryeheart's ginger ears pricked up at the sound of his name being called by the deputy, and he stepped forward out of the crowd to meet his new apprentice.  He held back for a moment, a bit confused on which fluffy tabby twin was Ospreypaw, but once Wolfheart padded up to one that must've been Sparrowpaw he trotted forward to touch noses with the young tom.  Though his icy eyes were still dulled with sorrow, the warrior managed to twist his mouth into a smile; the sight of excited young cats always warmed his heart.  "I promise to train you to the best of my ability."  He still had Owlpaw to train as well, but the older tom didn't have much farther to go until it was his time to stand before the clan and receive his new name; he was confident that he could handle them both.
