Mudkit sneaks out of camp at night. Spotfur follows. Spot scares Mudkit and Mudkit falls into a body of water and nearly drowns before his father Spotfur saves him. Because of this, Mudkit develops aquaphobia or something similar. Because of this, Cinderpaw calls Mudpaw a Drypaw and just teases him about it. He is unaware how much this hurts Mudpaw. Cinderpaw overhears Mudpaw crying about it and apologizes. They become friends. Mudpaw grows to be a warrior. Spotfur and Cinderfall are on a patrol with Mudwing. Spotfur gets stuck in mud and tries to pull himself out, only going in deeper. Mudwing falls into the water. Cinderfall attempts to save the brown tom but fails. Spotfur pulls out of the mud through desperation but is too late. Mudwing is dead.
