Opening
Skyclan has been known to be most accepting of cats outside of their own – so much so that some say Skyclan will take anycat, from river to moor, so long as they mew a few words of fealty. Many of Skyclan have accepted these cats at the word of their leaders – wary of these warriors but feeling powerless to speak against them.
But no longer.
A young, bold she-cat of pure blood stands to speak out against Rippedstar – and against the cats of Skyclan with foreign roots. Believing that these changes they bring – of dubious loyalties, and in beliefs and culture – are causing Skyclan to weaken and crumble, she rises to fight for the purity of her clan.
It does not take long before Skyclan becomes torn – loyalties splitting them into factions of pureblood and non – and the fissure runs deep. They are two clans under one name, with a leader fighting to hold them together. But when blood is spilled on both sides that puts all of their lives in danger, can the cats of Skyclan set aside their differences to stand as one – or will the clan of the sky fall, shattering into the fragments of their pasts?

THE PLOT
“She stood before the clan and claimed that foreign blood would tear Skyclan apart. But it is her standing before us – not our foreign blood – that will be the end of us all.”

PART ONE prejudice born
- Spoiler:
Honey is a young Skyclan cat, born of pure blood – and one of the few in her generation. Raised by a purist mother [NPC] who dies when Honey is young, Honey grows up with very rigid, traditional beliefs. What corruption her mother has warned her of, Honey sees all around her – in the cats that die by falling from trees (lol), in the squabbles over heritage. It fosters a distrust in her of those who are not pureblooded Skyclan.
Honey grows up especially distrustful of [cat #1], a cat of similar age, for their [dubious mixed heritage].
As she grows older, this belief only solidifies with the support and agreement of her clannist mentor, Sedgestrike.
Eventually she travels to the moonstone as an apprentice, and a Starclan cat speaks to her. The [Starclan cat] tells the apprentice that they can see a lot of potential within Honey – the potential to do great good or ill.
PART 2
thicker than water
- Spoiler:
As she reaches warriorhood, Honey grows bolder – and during the welcoming of [non-clan-born cats] into Skyclan by Rippedstar, Honey speaks out.
Honey is not the first cat to think this, but she is one of the first to be so outspoken about it – the issue running beneath Skyclan that is largely ignored. She is fiery and brutal in her honesty – and although an unpopular she-cat for a time, it becomes clear over the moons that she is not the first to feel this way. She gathers a handful of [supporters – AKA the purists], who meet with her under the stars and echo her words.
Honey believes that it is Starclan who have entrusted this task to her – of revitalizing her clan and helping the push to start it anew. That this is what Honey believes the [Starclan cat] was saying – that Honey has the potential to do great good to her clan.
Honey is not violent in this way – she has no intention of trying to overthrow Rippedstar’s rule, whom she respects as truly loyal in spite of his heritage (one of the few she does). But she forms a group of cats with the intent of showing their leaders their discontent as a clan, and to push for change.
They advocate for greater restrictions of non-clan-borns, and to limit the amount of cats they will accept, as well as to prevent non-clan-borns from mentoring – few changes among many that spark hot debate in the clan.
PART 3 brewing storms
- Spoiler:
A [pureblooded SkC cat] is murdered in Skyclan. It is unclear who the murderer is, but it is eventually discovered that it was also member of Skyclan – and it is one with foreign blood [the same cat #1]. A cat of foreign blood has pureblood Skyclan on their paws.
OR
[Cat #1] is a half-clan cat whose loyalty is torn, and in a [battle skirmish with their other clan], the [half-clan cat] realizes they can’t fight their family. A [blood purist] is maimed in the battle because of the [half-clan cat’s] indecision. In the backlash, the [half-clan cat] decides to give up Skyclan and return to their family in their other clan.
*which incident will happen depends on what cats we have available for the plot/when the plot goes down. ^-^
PART 4 lines in the sand
- Spoiler:
Honey’s support becomes more overwhelming after [part 3 incident], and Rippedstar begins to struggle keeping the clan calm. The purists believe that Honey/they are right -- Rippedstar is too trusting of foreigners! They lose faith in him, and build faith in Honey, in spite of her youth.
It becomes heated – and [a cat from the purists] and [a cat from the loyalists] break out into a fight. Each cat blames the other for instigating the incident, which resulted in severe wounds – but incapable of being fair, each of the factions stands behind their member. In the chaos, the truth falls away; ceasing to matter. It only solidifies the line drawn in Skyclan – between those with Skyclan blood and those without.
PART 5 desperate times
- Spoiler:
Tensions thicken; so thick that one could cut it with their claw. In defiance, the purists refuse to sleep next to the others – believing they could be murdered in their sleep, or simply not lowering themselves to mingle among them. The loyalists are raging and indignant – bristling at the purist’s injustice. And so the clan becomes divided in a new way – a physical one. The camp is broken apart.
The purists, led by Honey, build new nests on another side of camp – a new nursery, a new warrior’s den, and a new apprentice’s den. The purist warriors hold their own vigil over camp – distrusting of the others. They become two clans under the same name.
Confrontation—
Rippedstar is furious and heartbroken at what his clan has become – tearing down the nests, screaming for his clan to see beyond their own whiskers. But Honey stands against him – telling him the same; that as loyal as he is to Skyclan, he is predisposed to trust those of foreign blood, being of it himself. That they did not begin this – no, it is the foreigners that began this all! Skyclan had never seen such disorder before half of them were of ill blood!
[Loyalist cats] rage against Honey for daring to speak to her leader that way, but Honey has too much support – her [purists] defend her.
The crack in Skyclan continues to deepen.
PART 6 desperate measures
- Spoiler:
Believing it is Honey that is tearing the clan apart, [radical loyalist cats] come together, and believe that they have to get rid of Honey so that their clan does not fall into civil war. Rippedstar does not know of this – he still believes that he will get through to his clan, all of it – and would never approve of malignancy toward a clanmate. (Even Honey, who has reduced his clan to such a state.) But [the radical loyalists] plot, and one evening they manage to get Honey alone, and subdue her.
[The radical loyalists] don’t want to kill her, but they want the tensions to stop. [They try and convince her to stop, and if that doesn’t work, they attempt to kill her (and make it look like a dog) or chase her out. Up to RPers.]. But [trusted purists] find Honey in time.
Honey and [trusted purists] are extremely on edge – believing that it was Rippedstar that sent them to kill or silence Honey.
Feeling desperate and disillusioned, Honey and [trusted purists] come up with a plan to end this all – to overthrow Rippedstar.
Honey goes to the two-leg place and enlists a group of rogues [NPC group] to help her, promising them that Skyclan will help them rid them of their enemies in turn. Honey has no intention of following through with her word – but neither does the [NPC rogue leader]
PART 7 ties that bind
- Spoiler:
Honey rallies her purists but does not inform them of her full plan – knowing that many would not condone her actions, even if she believed they needed to be done. (In the end, she believed that her followers would see its necessity once peace was re-established.)
With most of Skyclan unaware – including her own – Honey leads an attack on camp with the [NPC rogues] and her [trusted purists], but the [NPC rogues] turn on the purists. Instead of targeting the [loyalists] and Rippedstar, they begin massacring everyone, tearing the camp apart.
In the end, all the cats of Skyclan must come together to fight the [NPC rogues] and defend their home.**
**as part of this battle, we will try to pair as many cats of the differing factions as possible -- they must be working together.
Rippedstar’s sacrifice—
In the final confrontation, the [rogue leader] attempts to kill Honey. Before they can close their jaws around her neck, however, Rippedstar saves her… but only at the cost of his life – the first of nine. Honey asks him why – when she has done this to his loved ones; has tried to kill him – but Rippedstar replies—
“Because… like I’ve been trying to tell you… it is the loyalty inside of us, Honeyfang, not the blood that runs in our veins, outside of our control,” he rasps. “I would spill this Windclan blood ten times over if I could save my clan... And that includes you.”
It is this experience that changes Honey, and the clan – including the [purists] and [loyalists], who both had to fight side-by-side against the rogues. Honey sees the rogues – savage and with no code of their own – and it makes her realizes that the “impure” cats she had been trying to scrape clean are honorable... and it is she that is not.
CONCLUSION
- Spoiler:
The factions fall together once more, and in the following moons, the cracks that had forced Skyclan apart begin to heal. Honey becomes one of Rippedstar’s most loyal followers, and the purists swear their loyalty as well – Skyclan becoming whole and, in many ways, much stronger than before.

Hello everyone! ^-^ This is Ripped and I’s idea for a clan-wide plot for Skyclan – civil war! Cx Or civil unrest, anyway. Skyclan has been known to take in everyone (so long as they’re not a murderer), and one of the things that came to mind was how… well, how that pisses some cats off. And thus A Clan Divided was born! Cx
It should be a fun, exciting plot with a moral to it. ^-^ Only one cat has to die – the rest can just participate! Whether your cat chooses to be a purist or to side with Rippedstar, they all live and are loyal in the end! In fact, the purists' loyalty will strengthen in the end! ouo Please, I beg all of you with Skyclan cats to participate! I promise it will be fun! (and I have cookies. cx)
Note: if you do decide to join (which I will love you FOREVER for if you do <3) please side with one or the other. cx I’m afraid there isn’t really a “neutral” position in this plot – either you are for foreign cat immigration or against it. As the plot goes on, either your cat chooses to side with the clannists or the loyalists, please! And while we may consider a few “switching” sides once it becomes more intense, as much as possible, stay loyal to your faction! Cx (Mostly for simplicity’s sake. cx)
And don’t be afraid of having your cat be a clannist if you think they would be – the clannists aren’t murderers, and genuinely believe they are doing what’s right for the clan. ^-^ You would not be joining an “evil” group. Rather, they would be part of a group that genuinely loves their clan – but learns necessary, character-development lessons along the way. (see “their beliefs” under purists).
DISCLAIMER: Ripped wants to warn all of you that in Skyclan, the penalty for seriously harming or killing a clanmate is death. Rippedstar does not look kindly upon violence among clanmates. cx
NOTE – Ripped has agreed that the cats participating in the fight of PART 4 (lines in the sand) will NOT be executed, even though they seriously injure each other. This is the exception. So don’t be afraid to sign up to be troublemakers for part 4! (Rippedstar will show mercy. Cx) ^-^
If approved, this plot will technically begin immediately (as Honey is currently an apprentice)… but most of the action (that is, PART 2) will not take place at least 1-2 months from now.
The Factions
The Loyalists
Those of half or majority non-Skyclan blood and their supporters. Loyal to Rippedstar, and believe that all of their clanmates are loyal, regardless of heritage.
The Purists
Cats of pure or majority Skyclan heritage -- including those of Tribe heritage -- that are either full clannist/purists or are simply dissatisfied with the leadership of Skyclan.
*Can also include those who, while not being pure of blood, have proven themselves loyal to Skyclan beyond a doubt -- like Rippedstar -- and are still very wary of foreigners. Must have proven themselves loyal in very definite circumstances. Pm me or Ripped for details! ouo
The purists’ beliefs
- Spoiler:
Loyalty begins with heritage. While some cats have proven themselves – including Rippedstar – it is their belief that cats of foreign blood are a risk, and are accepted by Skyclan far too easily.
There is a bond of blood that cannot be easily severed, they believe. If the parents that birthed you, and their parents and littermates have loyalty to a competing clan – how is it possible for you to declare complete loyalty to Skyclan? Cats will always leave a part of themselves behind; even if from a very young age.
After all, how many kits’ lives have been torn apart by their half-clan heritage? How many have had their hearts change in their lives – realizing their loyalty is with another?
Skyclan’s training methods are changing – their legends and culture are shifting to accommodate this new change in cats. Fewer cats are traditional, climbing teachings and practices are decaying, and a more accepting nature – of rogue beliefs, of the beliefs of other clans – has been adopted. It is their belief that this is weakening Skyclan – slowly but certainly breaking them apart from their strong, traditional foundations.
It is also their belief that these facts have been largely ignored by Skyclan’s leadership… and for the good of Skyclan, they are fighting to change this.
*They are not hostile to Rippedstar, but they do believe he may be biased to those of mixed or foreign heritage, being so himself. That while he may be loyal, he doesn’t understand others may not be.
NOTE: Two things:
#1 -- We consider Tribe-born cats to be true-Skyclan, and they will be viewed as such by the purists of this plot. ^-^ So if you have a tribe-born cat, please, please, please consider making them a clannist!
#2 -- If you're cat is on the fence about being purist/loyalist, please make them side with the purists, if possible. cx We are experiencing a shortage of purists and really need them for the plot to go forward! <3 Thank you!

OKAY THEN
I guess you can put my bby Pineheart up for anything. She's pure rogue blood and is known by probably most of the clan that she used to work for Bear, attacking any cats that tried to escape and pretty much the tyrant's right hand man. Of course, she moved past this long ago but purists will probably hate her in the plot, along with her soon-to-come kits.
So yeah. You can put her up to any Loyalist role or just make her a strong Loyalist. She pretty manipulable so she can do the whole "murder honey" thing if you wish, as long as she gets some reward from another Loyalist for it. ______________________________________ ~ WCC's resident lizard person ~ and holder of the Magical Name-Changing Wand, which is currently under a curse done by an evil witch which makes it do nothing but make an explosion of rainbows.

| I’ll sign up Hawkstrike in the loyalist side. This can cause some hilarity given that besides Crowstar (Which will be dead by then), everyone thinks he is a pureblood SkyClan cat that went missing and then returned by how he was introduced, when in reality he’s pure ShadowClan and accepted in secret y Crowstar.
His morals are very twisted thanks to his strong loyalty to the Dark Forest and the training he got from them during his moons as an apprentice, to the point where beyond the nice guy mask he wears he is a really aggressive cat that could kill in cold blood and without remorse if he has a good reason to do so. This could make him a perfect fit for both the cat in Part 4 that starts the fight given how easily it is to get him to attack thanks to such aggression, and/or the loyalist cat that threatens to kill Honey (Cuz he would definitely do it if not stopped in time).
While he would keep his act of pureblood SkyClan warrior, he would be an extremely strong supporter of the loyalist side given how he was taken in when he had nowhere to go. After all, he understands the struggles rogues have to go through and the relief a new life in a new clan can bring. He has grown extremely loyal to SkC and wouldn’t hesitate to do whatever it takes to protect them, even if it means going against the warrior code and leader’s wishes. ______________________________________ Stormkit
