Broken Hearts and Shattered Spirits [Open]

A dark furred apprentice stumbled weakly into Shadowclan's camp. She had reopened some of her wounds on the trek back and was now bleeding profusely once more. The poor she-cat's right eye was now a mangled mess of torn flesh and dirt-encrusted blood and it didn't take a medicine cat's expertise to know that there was no saving it. Thornpaw stopped in the middle of camp and lifted her head, taking a deep breath as if she was preparing to call something out. However, the only thing that managed to escape her was a weak, hollow gasp as her legs finally gave out and she collapsed to the dirt in a heap of bloody wounds and ragged breaths. Tears pricked her uninjured eye as she realized quickly she had finally reached her limit. Her eye slid shut and she silently prayed that Starclan would take her to her brother right then and there.

They were never that kind though.

Even she knew that.

Wildpaw came just a moment later with Sootpaws limp body, as soon as he saw Thornpaw he used all power he had left to quickly drag Sootpaw ton the center of camp and dropped him. He then threw himself on the ground to check if Thornpaw had followed her brother to Starclan, he let out a sigh of relief when he realized she still where alive. He then took a deep breath and called out to the clan "Sootpaw is dead and Thornpaw is badly hurt! Some one help".

He then glanced at the few wounds he had gotten, the badger had barley touched him.. He layed down and looked at Thornpaw "Don't you leave me too.. Who else should I tease then?" he mumbled to the dark furred she-cat infront of him.

Thornpaw left eye opened weakly, gaze flicking to her brother's face. He almost appeared to be sleeping. He looked so calm, so peaceful. Tears stung her eye however, as it was all to blatantly obvious that he wasn't breathing. He was gone.

She was all alone.

The ache in her chest actually managed to overwhelm the burning pain radiating from her face. She couldn't take it. She didn't want to! Why couldn't she go instead? Why did it have to be him? Why not her? This wasn't fair! Even still, she had to keep it together. Cats were beginning to rise from their dens. She could feel their gazes searing holes into her pelt. She didn't want to be here. She couldn't let them see her cry. Steeling herself, the she-cat opened her eyes and turned her gaze to Wildpaw's. He looked exhausted, and the grief in his eyes must have matched her own. He was the only one left after all.

Wildpaw growled quietly "Don't you all hear me! Sootpaw is dead and Thorpaw needs help!" he despretly yelled ou again.
He then looked around at the cats who where slowly gathering. He looked back at Thornpaw "Don't leave me Thronpaw! Look at me, don't you dare leave me" he meowed while looking at Thornpaw.
He where so tired but he wanted to make sure that Thornpaw made it and got help, he had promised Sootpaw to take care of her and he would keep that promise.

Nettlesting rushed out of his den with cobwebs. He couldn't let this apprentice die too. He pressed the webs into the wounds, breathing heavily with aspiration. He just had to save them!

Thornpaw grumbled weakly, eye drifting shut slowly. She felt cold. Couldn't she just sleep for a while? She saw a blur of ginger and heard Wildpaw's desperate shouting. She just wanted Sootpaw...

But he was gone.

And she wasn't.

Thornpaw wrenched her left eye open and stared defiantly at Nettlesting and Wildpaw. She wasn't about to die today. No matter how much it hurt, no matter how much she ached, she was going to fight.

For Sootpaw.

(Thornpaw will live, but her right eye is gone.)

Wildpaw looked at Nettlesting as he started tending to Thornpaws wounds. When he saw her eye opening he smiled towards her for the first time "Stay alive Thornpaw, for Sootpaw" he meowed, and for me he thought.

He slowly sat back up while not leaving Thornpaw out of his sight "Make him proud, do what he couldn't, he gave his life for us, he is a noble cat" he meowed quietly. He looked over at Sootpaws body, only the body where left... He where above them now with Starclan, looking down at them.

Nettlesting kept working and working until the bleeding was under control. The apprentice was a bloody mess, but he had managed to stabilize them. He sighed, his paws and chest and face bloody. He would need to inspect them closer, but for now, how would they get the apprentice to the medicine den? He stood. "We need to get her to the medicine den."

Wildpaw got up without a word and gentlly grabbed her by the scruf, then with the help of Nettlesting he gentlly caried her towards the medicien den. He shot a glance towards Sootpaws body and then looked back at Thornpaw.

Once they where in the medicien den he slowly dropped her onto a soft moss bed. He then back up a couple of steps and sat down, he would stay with Thornpaw until she where better, he would not leave her side.
