And again, Cedarstorm had to lead a patrol. It wasn't a surprise. She was one of the most experienced warriors of the clan and Scorchfang seemed to trust her enough to lead these kinds of hunting patrols. The brown tabby she-cat walked with Dustpaw and Wolfheart to the Carrionplace. Although it wasn't the most pleasant place for a hunt, it was a good source of food for her clan. "Okay, we're hunting here today. We won't leave until the two of you bring at least two pieces of prey. I'm sure we can be a good team!" She purred with a confident smile before starting tracking the scent of a rodent. There was no time to lose now.

Dustpaw nodded. This was her first time at Carrionplace. "I'll hunt as best as I can." She told Cedarstorm.

Inwardly wincing at the way the foul scent of the Carrionplace pooled heavily upon his tongue, Wolfheart exhaled stiffly as the small patrol trekked closer and closer to the decaying wasteland. He had always hated this place, ever since the day that Magpiewing had first shown it to him. Although that had been quite some time ago now. Twisting slightly to gaze over at Cedarstorm as she spoke, the young tom's ear flicked in acknowledgement to her cheerful words. "Call if you run into any rats." Wolfheart hummed, tossing one last glance at Cedarstorm and Dustpaw as he spoke.

Padding away from the two she-cat's with a flick of his tail, his mouth twisting unhappily as he drew closer to the unwelcoming scent of decay and Twoleg garbage. Keeping his nose low to the foul-smelling earth, his lips twitched slightly as he caught a mouthful of various different scents. After several long heartbeats of searching, Wolfheart was luckily able to stumble upon the familiar sight of the wiry, dark-furred rodent that often resided in the dump. Hurriedly dropping into a crouch, the young tom's haunches wiggled slightly as he prepared to lunge for the small rodent. Drawing upon the power in his hindlegs, Wolfheart made swift work of the unsuspecting rodent that had been a tail-length ahead of him.

Dustpaw looked at Wolfheart. "Nice Catch!" Suddenly a bird landed in front of them. Dustpaw crouched and leaped at the bird. However, the bird flew away before Dustpaw landed. "Awww."

Cedarstorm smiled arrogantly when the other warrior talked. "Don't worry. I'm experienced enough to deal with those nasty rats." She mewed before he could go to catch a rodent.

The warrior wasn't exactly a fan of this place but she had to admit that it was plenty of rodents, birds and other types of prey. The smell of the Carrionplace was disgusting but even with that scent on the air, the she-cat soon smelled what she was looking. She moved faster to the origin of the prey-scent and then, she saw the quick movement of a fat mouse. Licking her lips already tasting that small rodent, the she-cat crouched and approached her objective slowly. But suddenly, something scared the small animal. At first, Cedarstorm didn't know what happened until she heard the bark.

Bouncing scared, she turned her body just to face a huge black and white dog with blood-thirsty dark eyes. The canine growled at the cat with fierceness and the only thought that crossed its mind was: KILL. But the warrior was faster. With a battle yowl to alarm her clanmates, the she-cat reared up and slashed the dog's face with both of her paws. Crying in pain, the animal hit the warrior with one big paw sending her away and taking the breath off her chest for a few seconds.

Cedarstorm used Upright front paws, dealing 15 damage and costing 20 stamina.

The soft, sludge-like mud of the Carrionplace was easy to upturn, although it left a foul scent upon Wolfheart's paws. Neatly stashing the still-warm body of the rodent, he offered a thankful nod in Dustpaw's direction. Quietly sitting back on his haunches, the glossy-furred tom observantly watched as the young apprentice went after her own catch. Eyes gleaming, he held his tongue for several heartbeats as he watched the bird slowly become smaller and smaller with each beat of its wings. "Birds are always hard to catch." He remarked, ear twitching at the disappointed note in Dustpaw's voice. Although he would never admit it due to his own overwhelming embarrassment, but he had yet to ever properly catch a bird. Perhaps it was due to the fact that he was often a bit clumsy. Opening his mouth to contribute to the small conversation, a loud yowl stopped him short.

To his credit, despite his internal belief of his own clumsiness, Wolfheart was on his paws within seconds. Even though the disorienting scent of decay was still rather overwhelming, he was able to catch wind of a scent much stronger than that of his Clanmates. The greasy scent was heavy with the rank, nearly overpowering scent of sweat. "Stay close." He hissed, flashing Dustpaw a quick glance before taking off in the direction that Cedarstorm had last been heading in. Leaping over a small pile of rotting Twoleg garbage, the young tom was greeted with the sight of his Clanmate facing off against a massive, drooling black-and-white creature. Dog!

Although he had thankfully never come face to face with a dog before, Wolfheart had heard countless stories of the havoc and damage they could inflict. Watching as the dog sent Cedarstorm lurching back several steps with a forceful blow, he could feel the fur atop his nape bristle anxiously as he tried to time his reaction as best as he could. Waiting until Cedarstorm was a few paces free of the dog's immediate range, Wolfheart let out a short yowl as he hurled himself into the smelly creature with enough force to send it staggering.

Dustpaw followed behind Wolfheart. It would be best to let the warriors lead the way as she was pretty young. She looked in shock at the dog. She knew that she needed to fight and though she was young, she would fight till death if she had to. She ran up and attacked the dog.
