It was time for Poplartooth to see what his apprentice was like. He had only received a preview of the young, newly-apprenticed she-cat, Drizzlepaw, during her ceremony yesterday. Now, as he had promised, it was early and he was ready to show her around the territory. Every apprentice needed a proper tour of the territory that they'd be hunting in for the rest of their lives. The battle and hunting training would occur once she was familiar with the landmarks of SkyClan's territory. The fluffy brown-and-white tom rose from his nest and silently skirted around the cluster of sleeping cats. The only way you could tell the warriors were alive was the steady rise and fall of their chests as they inhaled and exhaled. Poplartooth couldn't help but stop as he brushed around Mumblefoot's nest. The entire night, and all of yesterday after the apprentice ceremony, the SkyClanner had silently hoped that none of Mumblefoot's traits had rubbed off on Drizzlepaw. The she-cat was so young, and after today, the tom would be able to judge if she had any potential. Well, if Drizzlepaw was anything like Mumblefoot, Poplartooth would just have to knock it out of her. She wouldn't be training with her 'mama', she'd be training with him... but the tom knew that his apprentice had referred to him yesterday as her 'papa'.

The warrior crossed the open, practically empty camp without making a sound with his paws, and he inhaled sharply before poking his head into the apprentices' den. It seemed as if it had only been yesterday... Poplartooth had been sleeping in here - surrounded by bumbling idiots. Now, he was still surrounded by bumbling idiots, but they were older bumbling idiots. Luckily, the SkyClan cat didn't have to go deep into the den in order to stir his new apprentice. He stuck his paw inside and gingerly batted Drizzlepaw on the muzzle a couple of times.
"Drizzlepaw," He whispered. He was quiet, but he still didn't care if he woke up any other apprentices, "It's time for a tour of the territory. Hurry up."
Without saying another word after that, the warrior left the apprentices' den and stalked over to the camp exit to wait for the she-cat. He wasn't about to sit there for moons and moons in order to wait for her. He wanted his apprentice to be timely.

Lost in a dream oh so warm and bright, Drizzlepaw was very soundly asleep in the coziness of her nest. She had been wandering the camp late last night as she always did and therefore hadn't gotten much in the way of rest. A warm purr escaped the sleeping little furball as her dream self caught sight of her best friend Quietpaw, only to be be rather unpleasantly jostled awake by someone's paw batting at her face. The silver tabby blinked open crystalline blue eyes and sneezed before looking blearily up at her much larger mentor as he left. She stared blankly for a heartbeat (or ten) at the space he had occupied just a moment ago. It was then that the tom's words registered in her sleep-fogged mind.

Drizzlepaw immediately popped to her feet, trotting energetically after her mentor. She suddenly didn't seem to show a shred of evidence of having been asleep aside from her ruffled pelt. The apprentice smiled up at Poplartooth with an expression of total innocence and chirped out an entirely too adorable, "Papa and I are going out?"

Poplartooth seemed to be unfazed by her adorable demeanor, for he kept his usual expression on his face - a slight, rather emotionless frown. There was that word again, 'papa', and the fluffy tom couldn't help but feel a sharp pang of discomfort as Drizzlepaw spoke. The atmosphere around her just screamed 'kitlike', and the warrior was surprised that he didn't end up rolling his eyes as a response. This apprentice, who was practically a kit, would end up maturing soon. Hopefully, with his guidance, she'd end up maturing quicker than most of the others. Poplartooth was pleased, though, that she had come out quickly.
"Now, there won't be any use to you learning any hunting or fighting skills unless you know your way around the territory, so today will be a tour day. I won't be slowing down for you, so keep up with me."
With a flick of his fluffy tail, the young tom turned around and headed out of the camp exit.

(My apologies for the late post! I've been sick ;;-;;)

"Alright!" the little kit trotted after him enthusiastically. She gazed dreamily up at the trees who's tallest branches seemed to graze Starclan itself, and the small, musical birds that flew so freely between them. The sensation of stray ground foliage occasionally brushing her pelt was alien but comforting. Those crystal blue eyes of hers seemed to take everything in as she pictured herself flying about the branches like those little feathery songbirds did. She managed to keep pace alright with the larger tom, but her legs were still small and her coordination still limited. This caused her to have to run every so often to catch up with him after falling behind, tripping over a pebble, or getting her paw caught under an uplying root momentarily. Yet still, Drizzlepaw caught up with Poplartooth every time, not letting any setbacks discourage her.

"Welcome to SkyClan's territory." Poplartooth said as he padded along, not even bothering to look back to see if Drizzlepaw was following him. The tom's interest was caught by the tall trees that were the signature feature of his Clan's hunting grounds. Drizzlepaw would have to be taught by him how to climb trees, soon. What kind of SkyClanner couldn't climb a tree?
"SkyClan is known for our tree climbing skills. I'll be teaching you how to climb them soon, but don't get too excited. Climbing trees allows us to catch birds and squirrels that try to hide up in their nests."

The tom glanced back at Drizzlepaw to make sure that she was following closely behind before he continued on. He kept his yellow eyes peeled to make sure that he was heading in the right direction, and he nodded with satisfaction as he spotted the familiar large boulder in the distance. Halfstone was the first landmark that Poplartooth had taken her to. The fluffy warrior paused once he was beside the big boulder. He stared at both of the halves before glancing back at his apprentice.
"This here is Halfstone. Foxes often make this place their home, so I wouldn't advise hanging around here by yourself. Despite the fact that it may be dangerous, this is a good place to hunt. When its warm, prey can be found in the sun."
Poplartooth could even smell the slight scent of fox coming from the dens that those rotten creatures created. It made the tom's fur stand on end.
