Nightkit's Apprentice Ceremony

The grey tabby tom sighed tiredly before stepping over the branch where announcements were made. Although it wasn't the duty of a deputy to name apprentices, he was getting used to it and for him, it was something he had to do. "Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!"

Nightkit walked outside of the nursery and undernieth the willow branch for her apprentice ceremony. She smiled up at Jaystream, awaiting his orders.

Smokewish padded after her daughter, giving her a loving lick as she settled with her beneath the willow branch, her tail resting lightly on her kit’s back. She was full of pride, for today was the day Nightkit was to become an apprentice.

Nightkit looked up at her mother as she gave her a lick on the head. " I Wonder who my mentor will be!" She thought aloud. She couldn't wait for her first hunting patrol, or battle training! She shook the thoughts and once more, focused on the willow branch.

The tom smiled when the she-kit approached the meeting so diligently after his call. "Nightkit, please step forward."

The deputy waited for her patiently while he gave a kind smile to Smokewish, her mother. "Nightkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and now it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on you will be known as Nightpaw and your mentor will be Ravenflight, who is finishing Fogpaw's training. You have proven to be a good and patient mentor so I hope you handle a new apprentice." Jaystream mewed the last words fixing his eyes on the young blueish she-cat.
